The only name where lexie is a nickname are all some female form of Alex. Alexa. Alexis, Alexandra, Alexandria, etc.

Why not just name her Lexie? It's a very pretty name

Why does everyone want nicknames? IF you are going to call her Lexie, just name her Lexie. I personally think it's ridiculous to give someone a name that you're never gonna call her. Name her the name you're gonna call her, doesn't that make sense?

Plus when they go to school, get driver's licence, and start jobs it only confuses people when they have to put down their real name and then say, but I don't go by this name, call me this instead.

I think if she likes the name Lexie, she should just name her Lexie. If no one is every going to use the "formal name", then what is the point? Lexie is very pretty...I like it spelled Lexi.

she could call her any name and still have lexie as her nickname or she can just call her lexie which would be cool first name.

Alisha could be ok of one to go with it
