When are the lights going to go on for this to happen...where is the public pressure?

"On Saturday, the pope lamented that children and adolescents were being deceived by 'false models' of happiness pushed by adults who lead them down 'the dead-end streets of consumerism.'"

He said this specifically in reference to the consumer nature of Christmas.

The head of MI5 has said he will not support the detention of terror suspects beyond 28 days, striking a fresh blow against Gordon Brown's anti-terror plans.

Jonathan Evans told MPs at a private meeting that he was not willing to back the Government's proposal to extend to 42 days the period for which suspected terrorists may be detained without charge.

The Prime Minister is already under pressure on the issue with growing opposition among MPs threatening him with a Commons defeat.

A report by the Home Affairs select committee is expected to cite strong opposition to the plans from senior figures including Sir Ken MacDonald, the Director of Public Prosecutions, and Lord Goldsmith, the former attorney general.

as Nazi Dictators.

Is everyone a drama queens or something? It feels like when people join a party, they become more ignorant. Just because you are part of a party doesn't mean members of it don't do very stupid things. And it doesn't mean everyone of the opposing parties are fire breathing Nazi Commandos who want to murder your babies.

Not all Republicans want to force you to go to Christian Church and go to War and not all liberals want gays to get married and drugs to be legalized. The most radical part of each party doesn't represent the entirety of it.

Why? It can be about anything- the war in Iraq, economy, immigration policies, education system, etc. ALSO, do you feel that the US is losing its status in the world as a political and economic superpower? Does this have to do with American youth today (in terms of math and science)? (Im doing this as a personal study, not educational).

Like a great many Americans I took a greater interest in politics after the events of 911. Prior to that time I voted Republican largely because of my views on abortion, however after 911 I really started to question many of the issues that guide the conservative movement in this country.Folks we have been had !! I am now totally convinced that we have been brainwashed (since the Reagan campaign) and used. The true goal of the Republicans in power is the destruction of the middle class. They have used flim flam men like Limbaugh and Hannity to confuse middle class Americans into thinking that what is good for the wealthy is good for them.I like many others were sucked in on one or more of their arguments.as late as 2004 I was still being a chump and voting republican although I was starting to question more. There isn't space in this forum to list all the innacuracies that being pushed on us . I just ask this question to find out are there others who started to look closer then and change

It’s sad that you believe the Liberal Media. 99 cents out of every dollar donated to congress goes to the Democrats. It’s obvious they will report only what benefits those they support, the Democrats. America has been brainwashed by TV and Newspapers.

What if the media wasn’t one of the largest contributors to the Democratic Party, do you think they would report the truth

In fact, I would hardly call launching an unprovoked war of aggression "interference".

More like war crime. But the question is the same.

Money is at the root of our country's power in the world, and yet none of the candidates seems to be talking about how we can make the US dollar stronger. Is it because they just do not know anything about it and want to focus our attentions on less important things that they do know about?

Nationalist and Catholic Centre parties?

These were the 5 main parties in 1930s Germany.

In addition, the Nazis fought on the side of the right-wing fascist forces of Franco while the socialists and communists fought on the democratic forces of the Republic.

By the way, some American leftists volunteered to fight for the Republic. They called their army, the "Lincoln Brigade".

========================
Cons, please explain why a left-wing organization, which you think the nazis are, would ban left-wing organizations and side with the right-wing ones?

Both were trying to "flip this house" and did not know when to quit. Now, they should pay the price for their greed. These were not "poor uneducated" people being taken advantage of ($700k homes are not bought by such people). These were well educated middle income earners who's eyes exploded over the prospect of instant equity which is simply a number on a piece of paper.

Your thought please.

It’s sad when teachers promote anti-capitalism and pro-liberalism views on their students. Not surprising that 99 cents out of every dollar donated to Congress is given to the Democrat party. So many students trust teachers as being honest, but instead are promoting their political agenda on young gullible students

American Federation of Teachers
The American Federation of Teachers represents 1 million teachers, school staff, higher education faculty and other public employees. As one of the leading education groups on Capitol Hill, the federation lobbied heavily on President Bush’s education plan, beating back attempts to attach pro-voucher amendments.
