I think it's because of the liberal public school system, mostly. There are other factors, like parenting that could factor in. Additionally, America as a whole is leaning more and more to the left.

Here is more on that that I wrote for another question but it applies to this as well:

There appears to be few values taught in our school system whatsoever. While most schools still allow the Pledge of Allegiance, I feel as though that is on the way out as well. The words “Under God” are already pretty much done. The National Anthem is on its way out as well.

As a rule, public school teachers are liberal and they use their position of authority as a platform to sway the kids into thinking like they do. I have had to argue with my nine year old since she started kindergarten about whether her teacher’s “Opinions” were fact or fiction. The teachers seem to be teaching evolution as fact rather than theory, and the big bang theory as fact, but they do not teach any intelligent design as even a theory. I dare you to even suggest it.

They also teach the kids to never stand up for themselves. If they are being bullied, they will be suspended for fighting back. The leaders tell the kids to respect other family dynamics, such as gay/lesbian families, yet the most disrespected seem to be the Mom and Dad who are still together families.

It is a very sad day that our children learn no respect and real values that will allow them to be a person of Integrity in the future and love America like our ancestors did.

Hope that helps.

Children still allow emotion to pretty much rule their lives, and they are also used to someone else being there to take care of
them. Most have no idea what it's like to be independent, regardless of what they claim.
By the time they break out into the world, they're more likely to learn a bit more about economic reality, and many swing all the way over to the right.

Then, some, with a bit of wisdom and the ability to avoid groupthink, learn about freedom. The idea that you owe nothing and are owed nothing. This is where Libertarians usually spawn, though with the comfortable level of technology we've reached, many folks are still easily able to avoid this level of growing up, and remain firmly in the old hive mentality.

Anyone under around 24 is an idealist to varying degrees. Many have no sense of mortality and believe they are impervious to damage. As they grow and mature they see the pie in the sky lie for what it is and mature into their political beliefs.

The ones that never mature past the world owing them something become lieberal dimocrats and demand to be handed life for nothing.

The ones that gain an education become members of the Democratic or Republican party and are usually just like anyone else. They just agree more with one party or the other.

I'm a college student teen and I'm not a democrat. I have Democratic views but I am not one. Nor am I a Republican. I am a person who votes for someone I think can do the job that needs to be done and not make an a** out of America.

Theres an old saying where I come from on this topic:
If your young and not liberal you have no heart.
If your old and liberal.... you have no brain!
The answer to your question is, if indeed a majority of youth are Dems, (and I question your facts on that issue), but just to humor you, IF they are....
It is because young people are more easy to dupe than older, more informed people.
Why are most Military people Republicans?
Why did the majority of Americans elect Republicans to lead us in the last 30 years of presidential elections?
We could go on and on with this.
Your question is not backed up with facts.... only innuendo and insinuation.

Your source is a weak one. You don't know "most" teenagers in the USA. Just because you know 7 people and 6 of them are democrats doesnt mean that ratio repeats itself across the nation.

Well, they were indoctrinated in the public school system for one. They also haven't had to do anything in the real world, so they haven't learned life lessons like hard work, paying taxes, responsibility, raising family, paying bills, etc.

Once they do that for a few years, and then start to think about their positions and how they jive with their real life, many realize they aren't actually Democrats any more.

Because they have seen what a steadfast Republic has been doing to our country for the past 7+ years, and they are as appalled as the rest of the country--and they know that if a Democrat comes into the White House, the chances that our country will recover are much better.

because Bush is a moron and even 13 yr old kids can see that. You heard it here first, when these kids become of age, they will vote democrat because the Bush Blunders will ever remain synonymous with the republican party. Besides kids these days are in integrated schools complete with latinos, blacks and gay most unlike what the Republicans really want.
