I KNOW I GOT THE HOTS FOR CONGRESS TODAY!
I just get tired of my tax money being wasted on a bunch of greedy, fossilized, baby kissers not looking out for the best interest of the nation as a whole...or not as a whole for that matter.

Some of those fools have been there for decades! So, should bush be able to run again?
No, because it would be illegal.

True.
Look at the festering turd that is TED KENNEDY.
Other than driving drunk and killing his secretary, he has done NOTHING in his life.

Interesting, maybe have terms for their family working for the different lobbyist also. must be hard when a family memeber shows up with a great job representing a lobby. But i am sure that the congrss person still makes an unbiased whatever. Then some have their families do work for them and if they leave then say like ones wife would not make $200,000 a year. That's a hard cut for both of them. It goes on.

Unfortunately congress would have to pass the term limits and that's equivalent to them turning down their annual salary increase. It's a big cash cow for those who are members of the club.

We have term limits. The limit is every 2 years for a member of the House and six years for a Sentator. Each time they are up for reelection they can be turned out and someone else put in their place. If the constituency doesn't want them they need only vote for someone else.

Yes, I wouldn't mind.
Does anyone remember when, in the 90's, a bunch of Republicans and some Democrats swore that they would only serve for 2 terms in the House?????
Well........ The Republicans did resign after 2 terms like they swore to do. Good people, and the voters didn't like them retiring.
BUT...... NONE of the Democrats resigned like they swore to do. They LIED.
Democrats said "they were too important to the country to keep their promise".
Cool!!!! I loved it. Democrats ALWAYS lie.
And Democrat Voters NEVER catch on. Well...... a few do.
I did.

It's going to take a constitutional amendment for that to happen and, since it takes 2/3 of congress or a constitutional convention to do that it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Most states take care of this themselves through the normal election processes, with just a few exceptions.
The exceptions don't deserve to have adequate representation.

That's a good idea but, I don't see it being implemented by Congress either.

They come up for vote every two years. Vote them out. Or is it only someone else's representatives you want limited?
