Senator Biden would allow uninsured Americans to buy into an insurance program that mirrors the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan – the program that provides health insurance to members of Congress, their staff, and federal employees.
While the program will contain the same carriers and the same plan offerings, the new program will have its own insurance pool. Carriers in the FEHBP program would have to offer plans in the universal buy-in plan, but would have access to reinsurance to help with catastrophic costs for enrollees with greater than usual health costs. The buy-in program could also have an age-adjusted “payment” or “bonus” for plans that enroll older and less healthy people to help carriers avoid the effects of adverse selection.
People would be permitted to buy-in on a sliding scale based on income.
Small businesses would be allowed to participate in the program to help provide insurance for their employees.

I see some here are blaming people on the other side for the fires, but have any politicians blamed the other side for the fires in CA. Should we not try and help those in need, rather than use this as a photo op, or a chance to bash the other side? Does CA seem to have more of these fires than other states? Any guess why? I know it is a big state, I just do not remember seein too many of these in Montana, or Idaho.

Thank You As Always.

“One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday

So, yearly fires that happen since before the area was even settled are now due to global warming. And people wonder why I don't care about their whole stupid movement.

He's been honest and hard-working and has served his country in peace and war.
As far as I know he's the only politician whose served in the frontlines of a warzone, has children active in the military, and still stands by his belief that we should stay in Iraq.
He's a great candidate, why can't he get any support?

For years the Bush administration has been illegally spying on Americans' phone calls and emails with the willing assistance of big telecom companies like Verizon and AT&T. Lawsuits moving forward against these companies may be the only way we ever find out how far the Bush administration went in breaking the law.2

So the White House is putting enormous pressure on Congress to give the phone companies retroactive immunity for all the laws they broke spying on innocent Americans. And some key Democrats are ready to go along!
