obviously the idiots on here are not southern californians. My father in law was a fireman for Los Angeles county, and he has always said that if the bureaucracy let them go and clear the underbrush there would not be a fire of this magnitude for years to come. But fireman die putting out these fires every year and billions of dollars and millions are displaced because off liberal environmental crap. They blame bush for Katrina, but the libs have but to point in the mirror for the blood that is on their hands because they wont let the fireman do their jobs.
Every time they want to go burn underbrush the libs sue the state city and county. The blood is on their hands

Not allowing the clearing of dead wood and under brush was a very big factor in these fires. The high winds and drought also a factor but like at your home, if you don't clean up once in a while your just asking for trouble.

As much as I thank Bush for the Health Forests Initiative which was supposed to stop forest fires. Hows that going by the ways.
