I'm not going to make a big thing about this, I think abortion is murder but agree with Barry Goldwater that government can't make these decisions,

And regarding gays, who cares if two gay men want to get married, how is that an affront on heterosexual marriage in america, the sky won't fall republicans, heterosexual marriage is filled with adultery and divorce, its not like its really all that "sanctity" currently, gay marriage won't destroy your heterosexual marriages

If one truly is pro-choice, and believes in big gov't and universal healthcare, how can they influence society to respect these views or even accept them? Any suggestions besides running for office? Which career is best? Journalism/media, law, finance, politics, non-profit, education? How may one influence society the most? Thanks.

The Ministry of Defence has played down criticism of US post-war policy in Iraq by the former head of the British army.
In a Daily Telegraph interview, Gen Sir Mike Jackson, chief of general staff during the 2003 invasion, attacked the policy as "intellectually bankrupt".

Doesn't this tell us how pathetic, wrong and frankly TREASONOUS this administration has been to our troops?

This guy is the equivalent to Colin Powell, and he should know.

The term United Statesian is simply the English version of it, just now it is making inroads into our lingo, predominantly from Europe as most of America does not speak English and is not yet on-line and there are even less pages written by Spanish or Portuguese speaking people in English, however if you google United Statesian you already get over 10,000 returns (this figure gets manually trimmed by Google, right after bot crawling the results are over 20,000). As a United Statesian that was born and bread in the American South West, I can assure you most Americans resent the use of the word America when referring to the United States or American to denote United Statesian citizenship.

Mind you, I am for immigration, LEGAL immigration. Most Americans welcome immigration from whatever country as long it is done legally.
The Berlin Wall was built by Communists to keep citizens from leaving a country. The wall on the border would be built to prevent illegals from entering. Can you see the difference? Or perhaps you can't?

I think that the Democrats grossly underestimated George W. Bush in the last two elections. The 2000 election was very close. In 2004, I think the Dems thought it would be a cake walk. They made the mistake of electing a totally boring, establishment candidate, when they had the chance to choose someone fresh and vital like Howard Dean.

Now it looks like they are going to make the same mistake with Hillary Clinton - who is a total establishment candidate.

They should choose Obama.

Will the Dems make the mistakes they made in the last 2 elections again?
