Never underestimate the power of the electorate college, the can vote however they want but the backlash if the republicand win this election will severly divide this country. Besides the republicans aren't going to run any serious candidate because the economy will be in the cellar the next 4 years and like George Bush Sr. found out the hard way after Regan left him holding the bag.

All they have to do to win is get a candidate that will have the same message all the time. They will not change it to match the group they are talking to.
Strait talk is why George W Bush won. Like it or not he has done everything he said he would do. That includes the war. Where those choices correct, NO.
Kerry tried to be everything to everyone. He gave a speech to automakers saying how SUVs where the best thing to come around in years, days later he was at a Earth Day even and said how they were destroying the environment.
Keep the same message, do not flip flop on it, do not lie. Then they can beat the Republicans.

A few answers here and no one with sources to back it up.
An understanding of how the election process works would be the first thing to research. After a little research you will find democrats or republicans are the same. It doesnt matter who is what the federal reserve makes the corporate decisions. Remember this country was not founded on democracy but rather a republic. A democracy is equalled to 2 wolfs and one lamb deciding whats for dinner. 51% CAN RULE 49% THAT IS DEMOCRACY. Not at all what our great grandfathers fought and died for when we were liberated from england. research please we are running out of time.
I have given everyone a starting point below I suggest you view some truths of these matters carefully. Do not take my word for it. Use your own logic and common sense to come to your conclusions rather than what Bill O reilly spews or george stephanoplois rants.

From what I'm seeing they already are. They've all but taken the Oath of Office at this point without realizing that their front runner is completely unelectable and without taking into account they fact their congress has the worst approval ratings since they began tracking those statistics.
They're also completely underestimating Thompson, I think he's going to take the primary and go on to save us all from another Clinton Reign of Ineptitude.

The Dumocrats always underestimate the intelligence of the people. That is why they tax and spend.
Did you see the face of Ted Kennedy at W's first State of the Union speech when W proposed the modest tax cut.
W said "Its their money, let them spend it the way they want to." Old Kennedy sat there, with his arms folded (a sign of closed mind) and shook his head no with a scowl on his face.
It is our money, you arrogant sob!
The dumos will lose the election Hugely if they nominate Hillery or Obama Osama, the country will not elect a woman or a Black at this time, no way.

First of all Bush wasn't elected. Doesn't really matter if Dems thought it was a cakewalk . We all know how Bush ended up in the White House. Now it is simply rectifying the wrongs of the crime family and their generations of corruption.
Strategy is unimportant - though Congressional Democrats seem to be playing that old game. Times are a changin' - new faces - new folks making the decision to vote their convictions.
It has to happen or we are toast.

A woman, Hillary and/or a young Obama, lacking experience, untested will not be their best candidate. I don't think we've seen their best yet. The Republicans, even with all the Bush dissention, still have some formitable choices.

You make it sound like both times Bush blew the democratic candidate out of the water. Both elections were close with Gore winning the popular vote in 2000.
Republicans need to worry about finding a candidate that polls better than "none of the above".

I think you are on the right track but that you still have the wrong candidate. Obama doesn't have enough of a track record to run on. I think it's a shame that the media only gives attention to these 2 candidates while the better choices are not given anywhere near the air time.
