Islam by itself is stereotypical religion, a way of life based on an unscientific mythology,
there are evil wicked men who pervert all religion, to be homophobic, racist, sexist,
al kaida has perverted true islam to brainwash children to kill the members of western civilization
we are right in fighting back against al kaida, but we must also fight this perversion of true islam

Probably so. Does it deserve it? Probably so. Until the "moderate" Muslim leaders around the world are heard it will continue. As long as the Koran can be interpreted the was it is, Islam will be linked with terrorism and murder.
BTW, I find it amazing that you will stand up against the demonization of Islam, caused by "a minority"( my words not yours) of Muslims, but you will demonize the entire conservative movement, group, whatever you want to call it, over the actions of a few people claiming to be in that group.

When Americans hear "Death to America" and get constant threats (9/11, U.SS Cole, First Trade Center bombing, attempts at Ft. Dix, Shoe Bomber, etc.) and see incidents happening all over the world, England, Bali,India, etc. it's only natural we Americans have a distaste. The media may report these instances, but Americans see it as an attack on our way of life, that we love. We just want to be respected for our own values. Intolerance is the problem - worldwide.

Does not Islam demonize all other religions. " Neither Christian or Jew take as a friend". Bin Ladin is Wahhabi. The Saudis have built over one thousand Wahhabi Mosques in America. The Clerics that have been arrested or deported from America come from these Mosques.

Islam is being criticised. The question implies that the criticism may be unfair.
Without a good knowledge of the religion and the complaints of its critics, one is hesitant to answer.
It would be helpful if someone would put together a comprehensive list of complaints and rebuttals using observable facts and good translations from the Koran.
If such a work exists, I would like to see it.

I don't think so because most people I talk to see the difference between those who practice the religion and wish no harm on others who do not follow their religion and the radical Islamists who want to create a worldwide caliph and kill all others who do not agree with their take on Islam

I'll be surprised, if someone disagree. When war in Chechnya started, many Russian politics started demonize Islam. But it was stopped quickly.

Yes, of course it is.
This goes along with the plan started in the 70's to blame rising oil prices on th Middle East. When in reality the lower prices of the 30% of oil from the ME offsets the higher priced 70% of oil the US gets from Canada and Mexico.

No. If people are feeling scared of radical Islam, and resentful, it's because of the atrocities carried out by Muslims in the name of their religion.
And moderate Muslims need to speak out in condemnation.
