Mind you, I am for immigration, LEGAL immigration. Most Americans welcome immigration from whatever country as long it is done legally.
The Berlin Wall was built by Communists to keep citizens from leaving a country. The wall on the border would be built to prevent illegals from entering. Can you see the difference? Or perhaps you can't?

I am for legal immigration too, and I fully support the fence on the border along with very serious border patrol agents.

We all know you won't do the research. That would require real work. And what are you doing today to make a difference in this world? Anything? I guess your plate is full with your 50 plus questions on here. Our nation is no better than any other nation. We don't owe other countries citizens anything just like owe us nothing. Do we have a right to enter Canada and expect the same welfare and healthcare they receive as citizens? Do we have a right to immigrate to and European Union country and expect full benefits as any other citizen there? We do not. It is arrogant to assume that the US is responsible for anyone else. It is arrogant to assume others want us to. Not all citizens want handouts. They want to do for themselves.

what do you do with the 2000 miles of shoreline on the gulf coast ???

I live On Cape Coral FL on the Gulf coast and every week or so There is a report on TV that 10 ( as many as 38 ) refugees / boat people from Cuba were found wandering on the roads near the beaches within 50 miles of my home town, they turned themseves in to the police -- the police did NOT apprehnend or stop them --- so it is not ONLY MEXICANS

In Aug 32 Cubans were found on a Port Charlotte beach and they had to turn themselves in because no Police or Coast Guard caught them

How hard would it be for a terrorist to just walk onto the land if they were dropped off in a small boat from an oil tanker offshore ??????

Scary but absolutely true ( Google - Cubans Found on Gulf coast beach )

Unlike illegal immigrants and other refugees, Cubans who are fleeing the communist nation and touch U.S. soil are allowed to remain in the United States and to seek an expedited residency and eventually citizenship.

The policy turns away Cubans who are found at sea, though.

This happens every few weeks on the Gulf Coast somewhere

IN July -- 27 Cubans were found on a Sanibel Island Beach

The Berlin Wall was destroyed (in case you don't know). Who's going to build that wall for a little amount of money? The wall won't do anything good if agents are receiving tips to pass the border.

There is no point of a wall if SPP and Nafta are being put into place. The North American Union is basically the opposite effect.

100 Mexican trucking companies are now able to cross the border. If not carefully checked Illigal immigrants and drugs will be transported through the borders in herds. Wall or no Wall...they are getting through.

The logical answer to this problem, is NOT a fence, nor murdering any human being trying to obtain work to support his / her family !!!
The best answer I have arrived at is FOR OUR EXTREMELY NAIVE, MONEY WASTING, CORRUPT, BRIBE GRABBING, SELF CENTERED POLITICIANS and STATE DEPT. TO BEGIN ISSUING SUFFICIENT VISAS - VISAS FOR WORK ON A YEAR TO YEAR BASES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those who do not know the situation first hand nor have any experience with our immigration service / laws concerning the very limited quantity of work visas (for Mexicans) to voice opinions (they have the right to voice their opinions, freely) is, to me, akin to the Dem's and Rep's pointing fingers at each other and shouting about stupidity !!!
"I, AN AMERICAN, HAVE BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, BOUGHT THE TEE SHIRT, AND PAID THE TAX" !!!!!

A wall might slow down illegal immigrants, but it will not stop someone seeking work to feed their family. A better solution would be to enforce the laws we have, or pressure the Mexican government to insure a living wage for their citizens.

Yes, I agree.

Those who are illegal immigrant supporters and Palestinian terrorist supporters use whatever inflammatory propaganda they can. They'll never acknowledge your fact that the Mexican border wall and the Israeli/Palestine wall is to keep criminals out of our country. That would be too sensible. They are, after all, illegal immigrant supporters and Palestinian terrorist supporters. Don't expect much intelligence or rational thought from them.

Two cultures who spend all their time blaming others for their problems instead of building their own thriving countries. It doesn't get much sadder than that.

Power of Fear:
•Spreading such a popular fear modern states seem to employ the discourse of securitization as a political technique with a capacity to integrate a society politically by staging a credible existential threat in the form of an internal enemy, an enemy that is fabricated by security agencies, like police, through categorising migration together with drug trafficking, human trafficking, international criminality and terrorism. This is actually according to Edward Said as “ Orientalist discourse”. This is not new, orientalist discourse has always been there and Islamphobia has always been there, migrantphobia has always been there
•Security is no longer limited to protection of national boundries, hence the term security in the present times has a broader meaning than that of the Cold War era. The Cold War meaning of security was rather linked to military and ideological threats
•The focus here was on the security of the nation-state as an entity, security used to be defined in politicall, military terms as the protection of the boundries and integrity of the state and its values against the dangers of a hostile international arena

Big difference. We sure would never build a wall to keep people in. And yes we need the fence.
