Acts by those with same sex attraction go against the Natural Law. Our bodies are not designed to partner up with someone of the same sex. Our bodies ARE NATURALLY designed to partner up with those of the opposite sex. We're the one's who try to go against what is natural by creating preversions (why participate in something unnatural like homosexual acts, yet at the same time buy and eat only organic products to keep your body natural and cleansed).
As a Christian, I worry for the souls that are affected by the preversion of homosexual acts as well as many other acts that go against Natural Law.

Sadly, too many voters here have bought into this fear mongering wedge issue which was just inflated in order to get votes for Republican candidates. Did anyone care or think about gay marriage ten years ago? Other than gay people, not really. Now it's supposedly a big deal. Get over it, people! If a gay couple moved in down the street from you, it wouldn't change your life one iota. It doesn't affect your marriage, it doesn't cause you to be less safe.
Gay people canNOT get all the same legal rights without marriage. There are hundreds of rights married people get that gay people do not now have. If they want to form a family unit and have rights of property and so forth, why should you care? Isn't making a family part of "family values"?
And by the way, I'm a Christian, too, and the way I understand what I'm commanded to do is take care of my OWN life and let God do the judging. The Bible says "Judge not lest ye be judged." So unless you are living a perfect life, attend to your own sins and let God take care of everyone else.

It's dumb, small-minded, irrational, and intolerant.
If it's all about "the family", should we make childrearing mandatory for all who choose to marry? Should we let old people marry at all, if they don't want to adopt more kids?
Don't we believe in the rights of all consenting adults to enter into whatever civil contracts between themselves that they choose? Marriage is nothing but a civil contract, and so long as the contract doesn't involve the violation of other laws, it's nobody's business but those who have agreed to it.
There are definitely rights and responsibilities that go along with the legal status of "marriage", and there is no logical reason why gender should have any role in it.
And for all of the 'zombies" out there concerned about rampant bestiality if women are allowed to marry women....dogs still aren't considered consenting adults, so you've got nothing to worry about.

Marriage is a religious unity and there are a lot of benefits to marriage and I think that gays just want those benefits, not to be religiously unified. I just think that gays are seeking equality. Personally, I do not think that gays need a friggin' piece of paper. They can have co-ownership and all that good stuff and still feel unified. In the Bible, marriage is the unity of a MAN and WOMAN. Period. Saying that gays can be married is like saying that the Constitution supports socialism and democracy.
By the way, for the uninformed, the Constitution does not support a democracy, we're a republic.

It will happen eventually.
Looking at your profile, you're one of those radical intolerant Atheists, aren't you? You're an embarrassment to Atheists like myself. Go find a hole somewhere. Rational people were trying to work towards freedom of beliefs and radicals like you come in and start your own hatred and intolerance, chiding Christians and arguing religion like the rest of the intolerants. You've made Atheists a part of the problem now. Bravo.
I've already seen from your profile you like to email Christians and harrass them. As if I want to have a one-on-one with someone who can't comprehend that they've taken Atheists into the lunatic fringe of religious intolerance. You're a Bush hater and a 'southern Christian' hater and because you disagree with them, you've chosen to try to humiliate them because of those beliefs. That makes you a radical bigot. If you were a Christian, you'd be doing the same exact thing to Atheists.

There is no reason. Those who oppose gay marriage are just as bad as the Muslims who want us all to be Muslim or dead. The religious right is not just Christian.
Marriage had nothing to do with the sex of the two people getting married. It was the way to determine how property (land) passed from generation to generation, and became important to most people only after ordinary people were able to own land, rather than work on their liege-lord's land.

The only real interest the state has in marriage is to protect itself from the burden of caring for children. If there is contract (marriage) the state can enforce it and not be a burden to others. So marriage is no big deal since it will not create children.
I wonder about those who are so vitriolic about gay marriages. And all other issues they rant and rave about. I think they are not quite sure about their own sexuality and cover it up with hostility toward some who have committed to what they are, namely born that way.
For those who quote Leviticus as to various practices forbidden. I suggest you read ALL of Leviticus. Then see if you follow narrowly ALL of the forbidden items. I think you do not, at least I hope so.

I think gays should just go ahead and marry despite our so-called 'laws". Who cares anwyay. We live in a free society. Our own president breaks and destroys laws everyday and no one gives a ratzzzaas. Gays are humans just like the rest of us. Maybe gays should create their OWN laws. There are enough of them.

Conservatives also uses the "they can't have kids" reason. However, there are five times more orphans today than there were 10 years ago, so that conclusion is obsolete.

I must admit, seeing two guys at the alter marrying churns my stomach, but, we do live in a free country, and as such, gay marriage should be allowed by the state. To Zombie, marrying your dog? Huh, what, is this from Limbaugh or Hannity, sounds like it...
