jesus the liberal says you should help the homeless. he also said you should be merciful to winos.

jesus the liberal also turned water to wine, the best wine at the party. so it wasn't grape juice like the hypocrites tell us.

with the cost of living the way it, is it so hard to believe that people can't become homeless who are not winos are drug addicts?

a lot of veterans are homeless. maybe it was a vet who threw that sandwich at you, if that actually happened. can't always believe repubs. wmd.

I would disagree with the first part of the statement, because all people do not do good deeds everyday.

There are some real bad people out there, and there are some really good people out there.

I don't think whether a person is homeless or not reflects on their character. For example a person could lose their job through a layoff, and may have difficulty making ends meet. Some people may have got injured at work and loss their job, and some people may have difficulty finding a job.

Who's making the statement? Without knowing that, how can anyone respond?

All people are people first, whether they are homeless, hopeless or clueless. Few people do good deeds knowingly, but most of us do good deeds, whether it's letting someone through a door ahead of us or saying a quick prayer for someone we see iin distress.

Having become homeless recently myself, I can tell you I blame myself, but if you are male, white and old, and have some problems not of your making in your financial background, it is surprisingly easy to become homeless. And no, I am not an alcoholic, I don't do drugs, and I am not handicapped.

True. You need to see homeless people as people first. Some just are homeless because of circumstances beyond their control. These are the ones looking for a hand up. Then there are the bums, winos, junkies, and just plain lazy people who would rather have a handout so they can continue living in the gutter.

I agree with this. Homeless people are not necessarily pan-handlers or violent criminals. They are an embarrassment to most cities where they live, but they are not "evil," and they are indeed PEOPLE.

Especially the woman who said this, who pulled a 93-year-old woman out of a burning car.

I've been homeless before...no I don't mean "staying with friends" homeless either. I mean "sleeping behind buildings with one eye open" homeless.

Yes I agree. Yet, people are still responsible for their own lives.

I guess I don't understand 'homeless' Don't these people want to work? Don't they have family and if so did they misuse them? If disabled they should get gov't money. If not working is the solution.
