I think the consensus among any thinking person is that all the Al Qeida/Taliban high value targets are in Pakistan. Now I just read an article on ABC News that said the U.S. Military in Afganistan has a high-values target list that got "leaked" months ago, that showed 16 high-value targets (including Omar and Osama) as all residing in pakistan under the protection of the ISI (Pakistani Intelligence services). For some reason the current adminsitration is not willing to push mushariff to get them, or to go in without his blessing. I understand they are afraid that Mushariff would be overthrown if taht was to occur. My question is with all the Dem bluster about we should get osama and not be in Iraq, will anything be different (for the better I mean..as far as getting Omar and osama) if Hillary or one of the other Dems get in?

Not making a judgement here, I just think it's a legitimate question. If your born retarded,autistic with one arm, both sexual organs, they're all considered birth defects. Couldn't homosexuality since it goes against the progression of the species and nature be also considered a defect?

As a country full of intelligent people, why are we still punishing people the same way it was done thousands of years ago? Granted they get more amenities than I do with a full-time job, but there has got to be a way to help the ones who can be helped. I'd be much more open to using my tax dollars to build more schools than prisons.

Any ideas?

Is there a repeatable way to accomplish this? For example:

* If we increase the amount of money given through government services, we create dependence and therefore more liberals.
* If we constrict our public school system's labor supply to unions, we create a liberal-friendly teaching environment that influences our children.
* etc.

What are some reliable, tested ways we can use to create more conservatives?

"The worst thing we can do is to vote on something which is critical of the current policy and lose it," said Levin, D-Mich. "If we lose that vote, the president will use the defeat of a resolution as support for his public policy."

Asked in the interview, conducted Friday, whether Iraq would be a problem after he leaves office in January 2009, Bush said: "The war on terror will be a problem for the next president. Presidents after me will be confronting ... an enemy that would like to strike the United States again."

Is there another ways to resolve this issue to have better relationship with the world once again?

You know only 46 percent of people actually file taxes in the US. This is terrible and out of that 46 percent there is alot of people that cheat. If we accepted the fair tax law it would be much easier. I believe it's only 1% sales tax added, correct me if i'm wrong, that is pennies on any transactions made. Then everyone would be paying taxes!!

I think my political views are very much in sync with Libertarian philosophy but can they ever win in a democratic republic?

Only a very small percentage of people on earth choose to take the 'harder, more self-reliant, less traveled' path and all pay taxes so there's indeed an incredibly strong attraction to 'get what I deserve because that's what I pay taxes for'.

(And I absolutely admit I've taken advantage of that when i was younger and found myself with great health problems that I couldn't possibly afford to tackle...and I couldn't afford insurance...and I received state help. It was an absolute blessing that made it possible for me to get on my feet again and move toward complete independence for them.)

If someone waived a magic wand and the Libertrarians were in power wouldn't the next generation of non-Libs simply 'undo the damage' because people would be suffering 10-fold and they would be accused of being inhumanly insensitive?
