Is there anywhere on the net I can actually have a conversation with someone about this, I tried not to get involved or bothered by it, but the fact in the matter is, we're dying, our troops are torturing and killing and humiliating innocent people, we have to take responsibility for this.

This isnt a free country anymore, we're here to be told to die for everyone else just so he can look good to the other world leaders.

The bombings this country (UK) has had recently wouldnt have happened if we kept out of it, we had nothing to do with it and it was never our place to interfere.

I apologise to everyone for the actions of our country's leaders.

My heart goes out to every INNOCENT person directly involved, and innocent doesnt include leaders or the troops that have acted indecently, to you, all I'll say is that I am so ashamed of you.

Thanks for letting me vent guys, its appreciated.

Bush was not concerned about having a UN Resolution of any kind. But he could see advantage in having another nation actively involved on his side. In return for the UK's support, Blair's price was that UN Resolution.

I believe that, without it, the US would have gone in unilaterally and the UN would have irreparably lost its authority. The US could not again have generated an international concensus and the ability to deal with genuinely rogue states (N Korea?) would have been terribly diminished.

I think that Blair saw the danger to the UN and decided that its survival was worth the huge cost of joining a poorly planned war that was, even then, otherwise unjustified.

I cannot believe the ridiculous comments I have been reading on the North korea issue. If these statements are representative of your individual nations outlook on North Korea, Iran, Nuclear weapons and the like, well, it is truly truly sad. Your hatred for America and the American people has reached an all time LOW (if that was even possible). IGNORANCE and COWARDICE, it appears, is running rampant in your streets. God help you.
Hey, by the way! It is precisley this kind of ideology that saw HITLERS rise to power. How can you people be so blind?

I asked, “Why are we building a freedom tower”, in a previous question. One woman replied: There are 1000’s of buildings that "they" could knock over. Maybe we should stop building buildings. Terrorists make car bombs. Maybe we should stop driving cars. She was suggesting that I thought we should hide. I wasn't.

Let’s try this again. The Twin Towers were probably chosen because they were the “most recognizable” feature in the “most popular” U.S. city. They were huge and probably easily hit by an airplane. I would have chosen them. Why hit a townhouse, when you can ruin an icon…More is well…more, you know?

Building the freedom tower seems like “provoking” to me. It seems like unnecessary arrogance. We are creating, yet another, huge target. The Freedom Tower is supposed to be even larger. A beacon screaming, “Come hit me…”

We wonder why certain groups hate us. Part of it is jealousy, ignorance, and prejudice. Part of it, is because we ask for it. Am I wrong?

Shouldn't terrorism be fought regardless of its origin.
There were no color charts, anti-terrorism budgets or round ups of militia members.

Yes I know why it was out there in the first place, after WW1. BUT in many people's eyes the paranoid, christian fundamentalist regime which rules America is hated throughout the world. They have huge stockpies of nuclear weapons ( which they have used on civilians) and they spread havoc wherever they go. Surely the very credibility of the UN is compromised by having their headquarters in such a place.

Wouldn't Rome, Paris or London be a more fitting location? i.e., peaceful democratic countries which have separation of church and state?
