Personally, I see our country headed into the "Ultimate Depression" very, very soon. We've put so much money and energy into saving another country's economy that we've shattered our own in the process.

Though each '08 Presidential Candidate represents strong values for a multitude of other important issues, the key issue, to me, is the economy.

I honestly do not have a real grasp on which candidate could bring us out of this recession. Help me and those others that are curious find the answer. Thanks

We had a president in the past who refused to sign a bill that would have provided widows government support. Such people turned towards charity, where they did find refuge.

Government health care isn't the best either. One just has to look at countries that practice it and see. Cuba for example.

I know now that it's already in place, it's harder to imagine being without it. But if we had to start over again, would you rather have it, or would it have been better that we kept government our of our health affairs and deciding what's best for us on a budget?

About waste disposal....

Why don't they provide us with some real recycling facilties. Give us some incentive to recycle... If it is costing us so much why not pass some of what they save to the people who are dedicated to recycling.

The current approach sucks and (apart from those who are genuinely concerned with the environement) there is no immediate incentive for people. All we ever get is people passing the buck and excuses for new taxes.

Why not provide more communal recycling facilities? Why not give people tax breaks depending on how much they recycle etc. Come on government sort your heads out. Too much chat not enough action!!!!!!!!

I had a heated debate with a co-worker,who insisted the founding fathers were very religious, and wanted all Americans to 'worship Jesus'. I think they wanted a clear seperation of church and state. Is there any written proof that the founding fathers wanted america to be a nation that required its citizens to be Christians?

President Bush said Wednesday that a law hastily passed in August to temporarily give the government more power to eavesdrop without warrants on foreign terror suspects must be made permanent and expanded.

This law is a direct violation of our rights, and does nothing to protect the country. He says that if we dont do it, then we will be much more vulnerable to attack, he is once again using scare tactics to get people to act. Why arent we stopping this guy? And how do people still support his illegal actions and think hes "great"

I have not done enough research or any at that to understand why we are in Iraq. I hear the President needs to manage the price of oil and make peace in those countries that currently have no form of order.

Instead of spending billions a month, why don't officials provide a counter-terrorism plan (meaning give states funds to enhance their security for airports, borders, etc) and/or possibly produce our own form of energy/goods that we depend on from other countries?

"Reporter banned from secret meeting on selling U.S. assets"

"Why is it that all these PPP and SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership) meetings are behind closed doors," Corsi asked, "and government officials and their supporters think that's normal? But when investigative reporters want to attend and report on what is being said, we are the ones who get accused of being the conspiracy theorists?"

"Public-private partnerships, or PPPs, were authorized by Executive Order No. 12803 President George H.W. Bush signed on April 30, 1992, clearing federal barriers for cities and states to lease public works infrastructures to private investors."
