the articles of confederation (A of C) were our nations first attempt at a gov. after the revolution the problems with the A of C were that it gave the states more power than the federal gov. so states all had there own agenda and were conflicting until a local farmer started a rebellion called shays rebellion that nearly overthrew the gov. and when the gov. realized that a group of farmers nearly destroyed the gov. than superpowers like england and france would have no prob. doing it.
