Would we have a better system of government if only veterans who were discharged honorably (or retired) had the franchise?

The French are now in their presidential election campaign. One of the candidates has a brother who is a secret agent and participated to the bombing of a boat in foreign territory, ordered by the French government. She herself, the now candidate, was then an advisor to the presidency.
Is it possible to continue decent diplomatic relationships, when you chose such a president? Is it not some sort of symbolic offence?

Tax receipts have exploded following the recent tax cuts. Why would Dems ever think there is a correlation between tax cuts and the deficit (can you spell idiot?). Spending continues to increase unabated (and cheered on by Dems behind closed doors). Why do we never hear about proposed cuts in spending in order to close deficits? Congress is spineless and the Dems just continue to shovel the same old B.S.

They should be embarrassed at how little they know about makets, interest rates, and tax policy.

They really are clueless.

If you voting for Hilary Clinton once we decide are president, there are a few things you should concider.

All the girls out there. Dont vote for Hilary Clinton just because she is a woman and you think we should give her a chance. I know it would be great to have the first woman president in are time, but you have to consider the facts. Look at her campaighn. If you still want to vote with her, thats great. Just make sure you dont vote for her because she is a woman. Please post responces

I have only heard of these possible candidates so far:
Obama
Biden
Edwards
McCain
Romney
Clinton
Paul
Kucinich
Hunter
Giuliani

I only know Giuliani's view on the subject, could any of you tell me the others

Or to make this simple - Which one stands against Homosexual Marriage

And if possible against Partial Birth Abortion - which I don't think any does so this may only apply to the Gay marriage.

There was a time in this country when we had to elect people to vote on issues because we could not be there. Now we have the internet and we don't need them to do it. They can just be advisors or something like that.

It seemed to me that though there was a great deal of anger during the election immediately following 9/11, we were engaged. Liberals vs. Dems vs. Conservatives vs. Republicans...everyone had something to say. All of a sudden the debate doesn't exist. Liberals feel that they won the election, they no longer have to debate and Republicans and Conservatives are so angry at the complacency in Congress and the Senate, that they aren't engaging any more. Do we really want our country to end up Socialist/Communist? As angry as we are, engaging in debate is what our country is about. When we are being kept from debate, that is the beginning of true communism.

I think that if they did ...and the results made public... there'd be quite a few more G.I.s around today and the US deficit would be a tad smaller too.
