Tax receipts have exploded following the recent tax cuts. Why would Dems ever think there is a correlation between tax cuts and the deficit (can you spell idiot?). Spending continues to increase unabated (and cheered on by Dems behind closed doors). Why do we never hear about proposed cuts in spending in order to close deficits? Congress is spineless and the Dems just continue to shovel the same old B.S.

They should be embarrassed at how little they know about makets, interest rates, and tax policy.

They really are clueless.

I certainly don't need a lecture on textbook Accounting Coragryph. I see that your mind thinks arithmetically, just like the Dems. That is a shame, because such thinking is not suited for the "real world" where tax cuts can actually lead to increased receipts. Congress does not the will to do what is right (cut spending) and we all know that Dems have earned their tax and spend label. They are clueless and things will get worse. Just give it some time and they can screw things up even more than you might think.

Get real Norman. If you believe this was mean, then you are far to "soft" for this world. Get some skin grafts and create some tougher skin, please.

Matt, you obviously understand that most politicans can only succeed by spouting their gospel to the uninformed and misguided. So sad that there are so many of them out there to swallow such B.S. A scary bunch.

Schmorgen obviously lacks the ability to understand tax policy. Another typical liberal who thinks arithmetically in a world that requires far more. I feel for you Schmorgen. Maybe you will see the light with some additional experience and understanding in the ways of the world, markets, and tax policy. Good luck.

Answer Girl, you should live up to your namesake and answer the question. Don't be afraid to address the issue. Most Dems are great at making noise, but rarely fdo they debate the issues while remaining in control of the facts. Answer the question next time and stop assuming that you have a clue about my intent.

I see you skipped Accounting 101.
Both tax cuts and increased spending can result in a deficit.

Net income is determined by subtracting the amount you spend from the amount you take in. Income minus spending.

Income means taxes. So if taxes are low, and spending is the same, you get a deficit. If taxes remain the same, and spending increases, you get a deficit. Either way.

But if you want to blame parties -- the Republicans have been in power in Congress for the past decade. And spending has increased while tax revenues have decreased. Resulting in ever increasing deficits.

The Democrats have been in semi-control of Congress for two months. And have already proposed spending cuts. So, even if your theory is correct, they are not the party to blame.

The Democrats mostly believe that higher taxes will give the government more money to spend, then they can spend that to stimulate the economy, help the down trodden out so they can become productive members of society, build intrastructure to encourage business expansion, and the like.

Republicans believe that the markets and the people know best, and if you don't tax them, they will use that saved money to grow the economy on their own.

Who's right depends on how bad or good the economy is. If it's good the republicans have the better approach many agree. If it's bad, the Democrats approach can be more useful. It was massive government spending that led us out of the great depression, and that spending was paid for largely by new and increased taxes. But also by creating a deficit.

But you really don't want an answer do you, but just people to say, "Oh, my you are so right, those Democrat idiots are such a bunch of idiots good ol' GOB buddy!" So here goes.

Yea, you are the man, they really are clueless. I nominate your question as being the best answer!

one of your answers was hilarious, so i had to respond. the first answer, where the guys says that you don't understand accounting and tax cuts CAN cause a deficit. of course this is true on paper, but that would be assuming NOBODY actually spends the money they keep from tax cuts, and this just isn't logical. Everyone that knows anything about accounting or economics realizes that the vast majority of people spend the tax dollars that they get back. They may blow it at best buy, and that is OK. Others may use it to fix up their home, purchase a car, take a vacation, and all these things are fine. The vast majority of people do not just put this money in a bank somewhere and sit on it for 30 years. Of course, if everyone did that then tax cuts wouldn't work. But the idea is that the govt increases the supply of money by giving money back. Anytime there is more money, and people are buying things, the economy grows. I thought people understood that by now. Your first answer guy was discussing a situation that NEVER occurs in real life, but this is what liberals do. It is basically a lie in almost every part of the definition of the word. They aim to deceive.

When you spend more money than you take in, you have deficits. Spending is only half the problem.

For example: If I spend $1000 a month, and take in $5000 a month, I am in a "surplus." If I spend $50000 a month and still take in $5000, I am in a "deficit." You can spend a lot if you take in a lot.

You are an "idiot." For being not only completely wrong, but arrogantly adamant about it. That is "stupid." You have "no clue what the f*** you are talking about." You should "shut your cake-hole."

The democrats love taxes and love spending. Since Republicans advocate tax cuts to stimulate the economy the dems have to attack them and blame them for all our economic ills. Can you spell "partisan politics"?

Because they don't believe in growing the economy. Therefore cutting taxes in there liberal minds reduces revenue to the Treasury.
