All candidates/incumbants seem to hold similar positions as my own on some significant issues, but promote agendas contrary to my own positions on others. So my vote both advances some of my interests and hurts others by endorsing the opposing view. On many issues, representatives do not represent their constituents, and these seems very wrong to me on many levels. Does it also bother you?

Is there an easy way to ensure that representatives represent all of their constituents' interests or that our votes can be limited to advancing only our interests?

For instance, like allowing us to vote on each platform issue for each candidate, and then allowing each candidate to represent us only on the issues for which they received a majority of the votes.

Or by requiring the candidates to get approval from their constituents concerning their general majority position before they have power to represent them on each issue.

Mrs. Clinton in 2008
Mr. Obama in 2016
Mr. Newsome in 2024
maybe Mr. Schwarzenegger in 2032 if the constitution changes.

Would you, given her less than credible background, still toss your vote to Hillary if she won the nomination or do you think there is no way she can win with Obama in the mix? And do you think he has a certain appeal that she could not acheive no matter what?

I'm just curious because I am LDS and want to know what he said. It seems like, from what I've read in some of these other questions and sites talking about presidental hopefuls, they seem to think they know what the church beleives. I just would like to know what he lied about.

(and no, the LDS church does not believe in polygomy. That's the thing that people ask me ALL the time!)

She's apparently starting some parallel talks -- talking with each side, separately.

Practically all the candidates in the past who have barn stormed about cutting taxes, and won the election have cut taxes as promised for a select few, but this only increased our national debt. This in turn caused the interest we paid out to increase. We could operate on credit for awhile, but eventually taxes would need to be increased even higher. Let's take a look at the Bush Tax cuts for the big boys and of course a few crumbs for you and me. The national debt has increased to 8.7 trillion with 406 billion being paid out for interest on that borrowed money. Sound good??

People vote for tax cuts for the rich, when those tax cuts will hurt their own community, and will not be reflected in their own paychecks, for instance, or voters allow themselves to get distracted from the real issues like the war in Iraq by "family values" issues that do not directly affect their lives. Why don't people take care of themselves?

I have done an essay for a writing class, and I am pretty much done. I have pointed to several causes, from disinterest to anger at the issues, statistics, and so on. I would like to add a few 'real world' comments. Let me know what you think. Any help would be appreciated.

John McCain and Newt Gingrich, among other candidates, have called for candidates' personal lives to be left out of the 2008 presidential race. If a candidate has had several divorces and perhaps strained relationships with children as a result of an irregular life, does this bother you? Could this behavior indicate a psychological profile which would be dangerous for anyone to have who has his/her finger on the nuclear button?

Does anyone feel like neither major party represents their interests anymore? It seems that both Republicans and Democrats are catering to the 10% crazy that can be found in any organization. Any thoughts about starting your own political party? What would be the core issue(s) of this party?

1. Those little ugly ads that say 'paid for by Hillary’s exploration committee' Is she still exploring or has she made a decision? This is another trick thinking that the American people don't read.

2. Hillary knew about the Middle East situation. She's using her 'First Lady' status to claim she has insight on international affairs but insist 'If she knew then what she knows now she would have never voted for the war' - LIE! She knew; and as she loves to tell it; her First Lady status 'Prepared' her for the Presidency because she was privy to International issues.

3. Her Cat Daddy of f husband abused enough women then lied to the American people. ENOUGH! He went INTO the White House under scandalous law suits and he left the same way. The entire 8 years Cat Daddy has been a womanizer and a abuser.

4. Hillary continues to mount her 'woman' position. Well, if she's a woman why would she turn a blinds eye to her Cat Daddy of a husband immoral ways? It's not right!
