Does anyone feel like neither major party represents their interests anymore? It seems that both Republicans and Democrats are catering to the 10% crazy that can be found in any organization. Any thoughts about starting your own political party? What would be the core issue(s) of this party?

You just now noticed that? Any new party would require a unity ticket with big names for it to even have a prayer. Or just vote for moderates in the parties that are already available and they'll eventually converge. Only when hotbutton black and white issues are no longer in play could we really have a true multiparty system. But issues such as abortion and gay marraige etc are considered so uncompromisable that it is unlikely to happen soon. Extremist have ruined it for everyone.

There are plenty of 3rd parties already in existence that you can join, so you just need to find the one that most closely matches your beliefs. Third Parties are having a major impact on American politics today, especially at the national level. For example, Bill Clinton would not have won had it not been for Ross Perot (1992, 1996). Same with George W. Bush and Ralph Nader (2000). Americans have been catching on to the fringe right and left for some time now. I'm hopeful.

I feel the republican party only represents the very rich and big business. They suck up to the religious right for votes, but once elected ignore their issues entirely so that it will be a vote getter the next election.

It appears that the Democratic party tries to represent everybody but they need to set better priorities.

I'm a moderate and I like the Libertarian Party. They actually make sense and have many of my politica beliefs. They're the fastest and largest third-party in the country.

I'm a conservative, but I think I agree with you.

I think the Democratic party has gone very far to the left, leaving behind alot of what would normally been called Democrats.

I think something a little different happened to the Republicans though. I think they shifted left to compensate for the Democrat shift, and that left alot of their more conservative members behind.
