the problem is how do you get congress to fully pass and the president to sign it. Yes, the democrats would love to fully control the budget, but they barely have control of the congress.

I think that the initial answerer had it right - a person who tries to implement what the common man wants, and has the balls to go against the military/industrial complex and moneyed interests, won't last long.
Kennedy (JFK) was killed because he was planning on scrapping the Fed and making silver be the basis for our money. The executive order intitating it is still there - look it up. It hasn't been rescinded, but it was quietly dropped. He was also in the process of removing our troops from Vietnam. The first sheduled troop reduction was to have been in Dec. of 1963. Kennedy was killed in Nov. of 1963, for those of you too young to remember, which is probably most of you posting here to Yahoo Answers. Kennedy was probably the last president to actually try and do something that would benefit the common people of this country.
The Dems today unfortunately are no better than the Republicans. Nothing will really change - the shadow govt, the people behind the curtain so to speak, are the ones who really run this country now, and they won't allow any deviation from their plans.

Well maybe someone will wake up and smell the coffee.........
Washington politicians will never change , when push comes to shove, they fold to keep power and swear to their constituents that there was no other way around it.
Look at the fools that are still waiting for Bush to be impeached ......when Nancy Peloci stated clearly weeks before the election on 60 minutes "No, impeachment is off the table," she says.
Either not a one of them listened or they just don't hear what was really said.

The best way to balance the budget is to control spending, not raise taxes," said top panel Republican Paul Ryan (news, bio, voting record) of Wisconsin.
ROFL sillygirl... Republicans are certainly the best people to talk about controlling spending as they're wasted so much money on everything they've done.
Dems are just as bad as Republicans, because they want to help the wealthy too.

I bet you didn't even read this and if you did you didn't understand it. They are adding another plan to adjust for those taxation changes... and the reason they are doing it is because it would effect middle class American adversely..
see this is the problem with you guys man, you don't understand you just go for the throat.. and it's so stupid!
