All candidates/incumbants seem to hold similar positions as my own on some significant issues, but promote agendas contrary to my own positions on others. So my vote both advances some of my interests and hurts others by endorsing the opposing view. On many issues, representatives do not represent their constituents, and these seems very wrong to me on many levels. Does it also bother you?
Is there an easy way to ensure that representatives represent all of their constituents' interests or that our votes can be limited to advancing only our interests?
For instance, like allowing us to vote on each platform issue for each candidate, and then allowing each candidate to represent us only on the issues for which they received a majority of the votes.
Or by requiring the candidates to get approval from their constituents concerning their general majority position before they have power to represent them on each issue.
