I want to get into barrel racing and me and my horse are green at barral racing. She is 4 and a tennesse walking horse. I want to train her to barral race and any tips for me would help alot to! I am a "advanced beginner" i guess i am not afraid of my horse and i canter alot but only galloped once and over a very short distance. (like 10 yards) I am training her to neck rein and it is coming along good. I am looking for more than the stuff you will find in books. Like for example i am looking for past experinces with training a horse to barral race. (i cant sell my horse to get another one and i am only allowed her)

And before you answer "Dodo's are extinct, duh!", I asked has anyone EVER tasted Dodo meat (as in 'ever', in the entire history of the world). I only ask because I heard it was tough, stringy and disgusting to taste.

I need some answers for the Cheapest, Easiest to take care of, Nicest pet for a 10 year old boy....

Reminder: I do not want to have to take care of it AT ALL.

It must be the easiest for him, and interesting to , or else he wont take care of it and then I will have to and then Im back to sqaure one....lol

HI - I have just recently bought a 10 yr old mare, she was brilliant when I rode her, very calm, honest and gentle. Now she is sensitive to touch, 'winking' and peeing a lot, and her whole manners have changed - I'm guessing she is in season, I do not have any experience with mares - my other horses are geldings, so I don't know what to do to help her, also how often do they come into season and how long does it last?

I was just wondering about horses the other day and it struck me that i didn't exactly know what swaybacked meant. I've heard it a lot, but was wondering what it was and maybe if someone could send me a link about it.
