better depends on where you are ESPECIALLY this time of year. Banding is less blood initially but once they pass a certain size it's impossible to get the ring around them. However...banding is NOT without risks...you need to check it OFTEN as there *is* a wound and it can become infested with maggots if flies are unchecked. The neutering leaves an open wound and the job is *done* - but equally needs to be monitored to prevent infection and maggots. It's really preference either way - but can't stress enough the risk with either one this time of year.

It's a matter of preference. There's more room for error with banding though. Not getting the band tight enough and not getting both below the band. Whichever way you choose make sure your goat has it's tetanus shots.

its alot cheaper to just band as long as you spray it with iodine every day,and then soon they will fall off!it keeps them from smelling so bad,they stink really bad when they get older if you dont do it!
