Why use the word 'assasinate' and not just 'killed' or 'murdered'? Is the word 'assassinate' used to depict the status of the dead person? That is, can an ordinary person who is not a top politician be 'assassinated'?

Media goes into detail on web sites where & how to make bombs,drugs, what household or over the counter store items can be used. Every day how & why someone is killed. Websites that are harmful for kids and give the site address. Rarely explained is a solution. There is to much said. And they're defence, It's news. Where are the morals? Kids are courious by nature. Its not always bad parenting. Whats wrong with kids today? Hummm I wonder.

what on earth is going on here? since when is it ok for the police to release transcripts of drunken rants to the public on a pending prosecution? Most real people will lash out at the police verbally when busted, especially if drink is involved. it boggles the mind that they gave it straight to the press. painting him as if he goose steps around spouting this stuff all the time. Never mind what he supposedly said, the medias treatment of him sickens me, the police even more so. They are the ones who should be ashamed, not Mr Gibson. I never had a soft spot for the police. I like them even less now. they have brought down a great man by magnifying a moment of stupidity into a global frenzy. It's a bloody storm in a teacup is all it is. he is one of the best film makers of our time and I for one will stand up for his right to try to annoy beligerant sarcastic cops. they can sure as hell dish it out but they cant take it.

Help! i have just finished an HND in media and am going to start uni in the Autumn at 3rd yr to continue media. I am working part time as a reporter for a local paper during the summer hols. They can offer me a full time position but it would mean not going to uni. Should i take the job or do my degree? I want to be a journalist for a national newspaper eventually.
