Before anyone says,"they get a lot of sleep",you can get sufficient rest and still yawn.

I've never worked in a newsroom, so I don't know.

My guess is that they've got the adrenaline pumping while they're on the air, keeping them alert and not needing an extra oxygen boost.

I'm going to track this question, though, as now I'm curious. I hope someone who actually knows responds.

It is a performance related job, just like acting. I am an actress, and I've never yawned onstage! You just condition your body and mind to be engaged the entire time you are doing it. You are very aware of what is going on around you because you are prepared.

I guess they become so caugth-up into what they're doing, ie being one the air that they have no time for yawning.
