His public apology seems sincere enough. I hope it will help assuage all feelings that were hurt by his careless remarks made while intoxicated.
We all make mistakes. He did the right thing and owned up to his. I respect him for that and hope he gets the help he needs.

If Mel Gibson ranted approximately Greenpeace, of which some human beings died for theri ideals, there does not have been the fuss. For some reason, some communities are allowed to be attacked (liberals and conservatives working example) and a few communities are not.

He got pulled over for driving while intoxicated and started spatting a bunch of anti-semitic words at the officer. He said something like "the whole world is at war over the Jews." It must not be a media hoax because he went on tv and apologized himself and is putting himself in rehab.

For some reason, the more money a individual acquires, the more stupid one becomes! I once knew a man that inherited 50 million dollars. He tried to drink it up and he died at the age of 53. Mel get back to basics! We are all mortal and it's time you got square with the Man.

I now have no respect for Mel Gibson, because he obviously has hatred in his heart toward Jews and who knows what other ethnicities.
After all the hoop la about him being religious and righteous when asked about the Passion of the Christ, he shows up drunken and beligerant. Doesn't make any sense to me and I think he deserves spite from his fans.
Honestly, I think he meant what he said. They say being drunk makes you speak the truth.

Nope. He's been a drunk and obviously he's been an anti-Semite or has serious recent issues with Jews. Now all the world knows. Good. I like when the cloak of secrecy is exposed.
Alcohol brings out only what's already inside.

No, it happened.
When people (at least many/most of them) get really, really drunk, their inhibitions are lowered, and they do things that they wouldn't do if they were in their right minds and entirely in control of themselves. In addition, some people get really aggressive when they're drunk.
I would appear that both of the above characteristics are true of Mel Gibson when he's drunk. I'm glad that he's getting help for his problem, and I hope that he's able to stay dry.

He was drinking and driving and got stupid.
Just like those people you see on "Cops".
If he'd kept his mouth shut the cops would have just asked for his autograph and called him a cab.
That is what Mel is thinking right now.
I bet he barely remembers the incident.
Woke up all hungover and found himself splashed all over the celebrity news.

No. He got pulled over by the police early Friday Morning. He was drunk so they took him in on an OUI. When he was in custody he made antisemetic remarks and asked one of the arresting officers if he "was a jew". He was pretty out of control. I guess this is his third OUI too.
