what on earth is going on here? since when is it ok for the police to release transcripts of drunken rants to the public on a pending prosecution? Most real people will lash out at the police verbally when busted, especially if drink is involved. it boggles the mind that they gave it straight to the press. painting him as if he goose steps around spouting this stuff all the time. Never mind what he supposedly said, the medias treatment of him sickens me, the police even more so. They are the ones who should be ashamed, not Mr Gibson. I never had a soft spot for the police. I like them even less now. they have brought down a great man by magnifying a moment of stupidity into a global frenzy. It's a bloody storm in a teacup is all it is. he is one of the best film makers of our time and I for one will stand up for his right to try to annoy beligerant sarcastic cops. they can sure as hell dish it out but they cant take it.

Mel Gibson was caught with his pants down, but that's okay, you can spin the incident anyway you want. Are celebrities accountable to anyone, if they do anything assine in public? Gibson has a winning track record in Hollywood, but his political views turn me off. Let him make 300 million dollars on his next movie spectacular. Since his movies are a hit no matter what, so he doesn't need my money. Supposedly the anti-semitic comments to-do, after all is said and done, he might be smelling like a rose. Yeah, right. Stupid is, as stupid does.
Mr. Gibson doesn't want your sympathy, he wants your money at the boxoffice. Sadly, he'll probably get his way.

celebraties (IE Polititions) have to be careful on what they say or giving out their opinions. They are no different than anyone else, they have their own beliefs and opinions like you and I. If they are antisemitic or raciaist, they have a right to their view, but should keep their mouths shut. In hollywood these celibs think they are above the rules the rest of us live by, and they can fall harder than you or I when they make them public.. Look at Michael Jackson, tom cruise and others.

Knowing the little I do of his father denying the holocaust ever happened I'm sure Mel grew up hearing anti-semite language like other children hear cussing and when their guard is down that vulgarity just comes out.

You are defending a drunk driver. He could have killed someone and you still would have made excuses. This is ridiculous. He is not a great man, he is a man who knew he was drunk, but got into a car and drove it because he thought he was above the law. He could certainly afford to pay for a taxi to take him home.Hopefully the cops will take away his license and he will not be driving around intoxicated
