Me, personally, I like the Economist and the BBC. What about you guys? Local newspaper, television, the Internet, blogs?

Why is it that when the same amount of people who die in other parts of the world it is hardly mentioned? There are websites, recovery groups, buildings, monuments, books, magazines, and other stuff made in remembrance of 9/11.

But when a cyclone kills 3,000 people in Bangladesh, when an earthquake kills 2,500 people in Indonesia, or when a terrorist group kills hundreds of people in the Phillipines, it is barely mentioned and it almost never makes the front pages. Most people will never hear these stores. Why?

Are American lives worth more than other lives? To me, I think a human in Sri Lanka is the same as a human in New York City. To me, a street beggar in Calcutta is just as worthy of life as a millionaire in Beverly Hills. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Well-meaning well-wishers could be donating far less to good causes than they think this Christmas, a survey by consumer group Which? shows.

Some 84 percent of 1,060 people it surveyed think that more than 40 percent of the price of charity Christmas cards should be donated to good causes.

But, in reality, this can be as low as just 4 percent, according to the Charities Advisory Trust.

but I think it is safe to assume that we are all pro Madeleine being found alive so if the latest press briefings by the detective agency looking for her are based on reliable evidence and facts, she may even be opening her Christmas presents this year, or am I just being too positive about the situation?

The program on Panorama tonight should be interesting so long as it questions why the McCanns spent so much time 'filming' their search for Madeleine rather than concentrate on the actual searching part.

And no doubt Kate will pull the 'woe is me, dont you all feel sorry for me' face. Rather than accepting that as a direct result of her negligence, a child is lying in a shallow grave somewhere. Why does no-one point that out to her the next time she chooses to wallow in self pity?

ACWORTH, Ga. (Nov. 19) - Three boys ages 8 and 9 were being held Monday in a detention center on charges of kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old girl in the woods near a suburban apartment complex, officials said.

The alleged attack happened Thursday and the girl's mother reported it to authorities Sunday, Acworth police Capt. Wayne Dennard said.

"The juvenile victim stated that an 8-year-old boy and two 9-year-old boys that she had been playing with earlier pulled her into a wooded area, where one of the boys raped her," Dennard said.

The three boys were charged with rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual assault, Dennard told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Their names were being withheld because of their age.

Prosecutors have not decided whether to try the suspects as adults.

"That decision hasn't been made," said Kathy Watkins, a spokeswoman for the Cobb County District Attorney's office. She had no further comment.

Calls to the Acworth Police Department were not returned Monday morning.

Acworth is 30 miles northwest of Atlanta in the city's fast-growing outer suburbs.

He took a 7 month vacation around the world to go golfing, and spent more time away from Washington than any other president in history, After 9-11 he did nothing to protect our nation, he is set on war, to make us look like the Big man on Campus, while raiding the economy of USA, with government contractors. Nothing in health done. nothing in the economy corrected. Rules of the laws have been twisted, for overpowernment. OUTSCOURCING is his favorite word. Not protecting our nations boarder, or correcting the crossings at the boarders, that he spoke of way back on 1999, when first running for president, His economic promisses, he must have lied there alos, He did not do anything excet sell out Wall Street. Education ws revamped from decnt to nothing, No child left behind got 50 billion dollars and right after 9-11 he took it all back, so now every child is left behind. I've wandered into this category from time to time and it seems every time there's a question about the McCanns. Are they still in the news in another country? They haven't been on the major stations in the US since the Portuguese were thinking about pressing charges on the mother. So why does everyone still keep talking about the McCanns?

I mean, my heart breaks for lil Madeleine, she was just an innocent child. I honestly don't know what to think about her parents -- why did they leave such young children home alone in the first place?

But seriously, everyday someone has something to ask about the McCanns here. Why? I know, I'm not helping 'cuz I just asked a question about them myself, lol.

as we all know lie detector tests are in admissable in any court of law, so there would be no point in her taking one for legal reasons or as part of a defence in connection with her daughters death.
there for the only purpose to be served in here taking one would be to win public support, and when she spoke on T.V she failed the public lie detector test, she was given more than one oppertunity to show she was telling the truth and she failed every time.

I'm sick and tired of people in this country bashing people on benefits.

Newsflash - people on benefits are NOT the problem!

Snide megarich businessmen who cheat this country out of BILLIONS of pounds in tax ARE the problem!

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has suggested an end to the trading of oil in US dollars, calling the currency "a worthless piece of paper".
The call came at the end of a rare Opec summit, and was opposed by US ally Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian president had wanted to include the attack on the dollar in the summit's closing statement.

He is not the first, Jay-Z has apparently used Euro's instead of Dollars in his music and some model doesn't want to get paid in Dollars.

A compound found in cannabis may stop breast cancer spreading throughout the body, US scientists believe.
The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute team are hopeful that cannabidiol or CBD could be a non-toxic alternative to chemotherapy.
Unlike cannabis, CBD does not have any psychoactive properties so its use would not violate laws, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics reports.
The authors stressed that they were not suggesting patients smoke marijuana.
