Isn't this another countless example of radical democrats utilizing their "DO AS I SAY-NOT AS I DO" rhetoric ?
On one hand we have Al Gore & Hollywood promoting their liberal global warming spin-which gains us more taxes & more gov control in our lives-while Al Gore uses $$$$ 5 - figure $$ amounts of energy monthly..and liberal democrats come out regularly to call Ann Coulter exactly what she calls John Edwards !!! Please explain ???

Why are the Afghans who shot down Russian (who were invited by the Afghan government) helicopters with American made Stinger missiles called Freedom Fighters, whereas the Afghans who kill INVADING Americans with car bombs always terrorists? It seems the American government & news has made the link that: Anti-American=Terrorist=Al-Quaida. Isn't it possible that patriotic Afghans or Iraqis (some who may be pro-American) just want the invading US to go away? That since any general uprising would be futile (and most likely unpopular) against the mighty US armed forces, car bombs and IEDs become the weapon of choice.
I reckon one side can put any label on an advisary. I doubt the British and Loyalists called George Washington and his militia Freedom Fighters.

..."I can't believe I liked that!"
Share your list!!!
The question is: What did you fancy in your youth, that now you dislike? I will tell you mine if you tell me yours...
1.The song "Ballroom Blitz"
2.Public pools (Baby piddle and people's spit :^( )
3.Muslims (So over that, can't fool me now!)
4.Catching frogs. (What was I thinking?)
5.Mixing drinks: Doing shots with wine/beer. (Oh my gosh no)
6.Bad boys. ( I only accept the good now.)

What is on your list?

Why do the big world governments have major economic and military interests with Israel and/or the Arab countries in the Middle East rather than more with Latin America, Africa or even Asia?

Personally I've ruled out the three most popular answers: oil (as in "no blood for..."), Israel (although I think some of the necons and Likudniks may have been motivated by their ideas of Israeli interestat some point)at some point) and definitely not "Iraqi freedom," or WMDs, ideas that would be too laughable for words were they not so insulting to one's intelligence. So why are we there? If you can give me a credible argument even for the ones I've ruled out, I'll listen.

It may be true that the "enemy" in Afghanistan is not always easily identifiable, however...

Isn't it interesting how the press tempers reality by saying U.S. troops "shot at" civilians instead of the real truth, which is that U.S. troops MURDERED civilians in Afghanistan (yes, intentional killing)? Read the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070304/ap_on_re_as/afghan_violence

As soon as you label a circumstance "war" it gives U.S. soldiers the ultimate right to kill anyone they want, including innocents???? Isn't it a form of terrorism to kill CIVILIANS in this manner ?

Hi!! I'm doing a debate at school opposing the motion 'this house believes that patriotism is the last resort of a scoundral' which basically means that patriotism is really bad and I'm opposing this so I need to talk for seven minutes about how good patriotism is. Any ideas about what I can talk about? Thanks!! Charlotte (UK) x

Take the following possible scenario:

- American troops arrested key leaders in the Al-Qaeda network in Pakistan. Among the captured included Osama, and Ayman al Zwahri.
- Then Pakistani forces somewhat loyal to the Islamist movement claimed jurisdiction and placed the leaders under Pakistani arrest/protection.

The US want to extract the leaders for a trial, but religious leaders in Pakistan don't want them released without a guarantee of a fair trial.

1. What could we do to convince them to give us the al-Qaeda leaders? (special ops is out of the question, economic incentives? help from international org?)
2. Where would we try them? (American court? UN international court? EU court?)
3. Once we choose where to try them, what can we actually charge them with? (Piracy?)

Pakistan receives almost 1 billion dollars in aid annually. Pakistan fears that their temporary alliance will go away once bin laden has been captured.

Does anyone have a viable policy/solution to do this?
