I wonder why they are continuing to go forward with more trials for Hussein when he has already been sentenced to death in his last trial. I understand that the appeals process must go forward on the first trial but I don't understand why there are subsequent trials. All of the trials (or upcoming trials) all include a sentence of death. They can only put him to death once. Why continue? Just wondering what others thoughts are on this. Thanks for the input!

I am considering taking a job with a contractor that will pay well. The two dozen people that I spoke to (some of whom I know) who have worked this job have worked in Kuwait. In regard to the geographical area, Kuwait seems to be proportionately less prone to witnessing acts of terror/violence. (As opposed to OTHER areas in the region.) Thus, would taking this job be a relatively safe move? In one year, it pays close to the equivalent of three years of my current salary in the U.S.

Islamic Terrorists are the greatest threat in the world today. I could list many reasons, like brainwashing children to commit suicide and kill as many innocent people as possible in the process, but you all know it's true, so we really don't need a list. How do we eliminate that threat? Probably impossible to eliminate, but how to reduce it as much as possible? You can't reason with them. How do you stop their youth from wanting to follow in their footsteps?

Worse case scenerio if the USA withdraws from Iraq suggest that an open civil war will lead to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan and, Turkey getting dragged in due to ethnic and national interests. With the fear of the conflict spreading and the world damand (thanks mostly to China) ever increasing, how much more will the price of gas be and what would that do to the US economy (including cost of living, unemployment and, inflation)?

I know its something to do with religion & probably the fact that we & the Americans have caused such a big stir in Iraq but I still dont know why they're blowing us (the public) up.
Everytime i try to watch & understand news programes on the subject i get baffled with "politic talk" (eg. statements that go on forever but never actually get anywhere).

Today Dawn Fields was jailed for 15 years for arranging the kidnap of a ten year old boy. This monster was only interested in the £300,000 ransom not the safety of the child. As a mother myself I could never put a child through the torture of holding them at gunpoint for 36 hours.

I have been following the news story about the men who are trapped on Mt. Hood (one now confirmed dead). I am confused as to what actually went wrong to get them in this situation. This was supposed to be a routine hike to the top of the mountain. None of the news stations seem to be explaining what went wrong on their trip to get them in their current situation. Could someone shed some light on this.
