Of course not, but that's part of the point. It's a challenge, with your life potentially being at stake.

That's great and all, but I don't like having to send a bunch of other people at great expense and risk out to try and rescue them. I think they should have to post bond or insurance for any resultant rescue attempts.

It is not safe at all, you need to be very careful and prepared. Even with preperation and expertise, which is what these three on Mt. Hood definintely had, mother nature is unpredictable and something like this can occur. It is definitely a very dangerous activity. Even small mountains pose a significant risk, but anyone that attempts to climb Mt. Everest is just plumb crazy IMO, lol.

Only safe if you watch it in a movie like Everest, it you like to climb, is very dangerous, but climbers normally know the risks and the rules..☺

Safety is an illusion. There is nothing that is really safe. There are only varying degrees of danger. So is mountain climbing safe? No.

Love this question! It made me chortle to think of of myself mountaineering a actual mountain, i won't be able to stroll around the floor with out stubbing my toe. i would not be far up whilst i could would desire to end for something, my knees discomfort purely questioning approximately it!
