I am considering taking a job with a contractor that will pay well. The two dozen people that I spoke to (some of whom I know) who have worked this job have worked in Kuwait. In regard to the geographical area, Kuwait seems to be proportionately less prone to witnessing acts of terror/violence. (As opposed to OTHER areas in the region.) Thus, would taking this job be a relatively safe move? In one year, it pays close to the equivalent of three years of my current salary in the U.S.

And yes, I know I can walk out the door and slip on a banana peel, fall, crack my head and go into a coma. So much for taking a risk wherever you go, so please, no philosophical answers.

And yes, I know that America is the free-est place on earth to live, so please don't go "There 'aint no doubt I love this place, God Bless the USA" on me either.

And no, money isn't the root of ALL evil. So please don't tell me that money isn't everything. I'm just trying to do more for my family.

All I'm trying to do is discern if Kuwait is generally safer than other countries in the region as far as being a civilian. (Please don't worry about me sticking out like a sore thumb. I don't look like Karl Rove.)
