British police thwart aircraft bomb plot
By DANICA KIRKA, Associated Press Writer

LONDON - British authorities thwarted a terrorist plot to blow up several aircraft mid-flight between the United States and Britain using explosives smuggled in hand luggage, officials said Thursday.

Britain's Home Secretary John Reid said the alleged plot was "significant" and that terrorists aimed to "bring down a number of aircraft through mid-flight explosions, causing a considerable loss of life."

Police arrested a number of people overnight in London after a major covert counterterrorism operation that had lasted several months, but did not immediately say how many.

Is August 22, Iran's date for world Armageddon?
I've recently heard this discussed ...but only on conservative talk shows, blogs and websites. The information is pretty scary ... supposedly Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told President Bush that he would get back to him the end of August about plans for Iran's nuclear power. I heard today the exact date was August 22nd.

What have you heard? Why is this getting exposure primarily from the conservatives?

Hello friends

All over the world, people are shouting about Israel doing this war against Lebanon. Why can's they see that it is Hezzeb Allah who gave them the reason.

The Muslim world hate West, just because they believe that they are Christians. While seeing all the mess in processions, one can easily see the West know nothing about Christianity.

People have stopped reading and believing their Bibles. That land belong to Israel, God promised it to the fore-fathers of Israel, starting Abraham.

While everyone in the Muslim world trying to make some kind of army to fight in the name of their Allah.

People are crying for Israel killing the innocents. Do you believe that Hezzeb is sending flowers and chocolates when they firing hundreds of Rockets everyday at Israel.
Does only the Palestine and Arab have human rights? Why it is not for the Israelis and for the captured Israeli soldiers.
Read your Bible, pray and listen to God.

Reports today say a plane was prevented from being blown up in mid air. Is this real or just yet another piece of news to divert our attention from the war like all the stupid made up news about car tax etc this week? Even if the plane was stopped from taking off etc, was it real or just a setup?

Why has Fox News been running the story nonstop for over the last hour, yet CNN Headline News has only deemed it important enough for the scroll running under the "really important stuff," like sports scores Robin Williams falling off the wagon?

How does he do what he does? Is it really mind over matter? I mean, I have seen him walk down the side of a building, walk through a glass wall, levitate, disappear in broad daylight, and even WALK ON WATER. Someone please explain how this is possible.

...a cross-border Hezbollah raid and diversionary shelling which resulted in the capture of two and killing of three Israeli soldiers (Wikipedia). Why did Hezbollah raid Israel, and what do they mean by "raid?" Does "raid" simply mean an attack, or does it mean something else? I just don't understand the term, but my main question is the first one. Why did they raid Israel?

How many U.S. citizens would die or become very ill? Where do you think they would do it? (My thought is NYC or DC). Is there even an evacutation process written yet in case this happens? This is scary stuff to think about, but look what we did to those people in Japan during WWII....they weren't expecting anything like that!
