Why has Fox News been running the story nonstop for over the last hour, yet CNN Headline News has only deemed it important enough for the scroll running under the "really important stuff," like sports scores Robin Williams falling off the wagon?
It seems like Fox News thinks we are obsessed & CNN thinks a lonely walrus at a Washington zoo is more important than what would have been "bigger than 9/11." http://www.wben.com/news/fullstory.php?newsid=05543

Don't rely on only one source for your news or you'll get only half the story.

It took CNN over an hour to address the story. MSNBC didn't seem to be covering it for the first hour either. Fox News went overboard. I want to be alerted of any new news, not hear the same stuff on a loop until something new comes up!

Hi Smart Kat...
Yes I've seen the news this AM. I can't comment on your observation re. CNN because I've been watching it on FOX exclusively. But it's interesting because I just assumed that this was a major international news story and that CNN would be giving it top billing.
As I write, I tuned into CNN and they're covering the story as well. So maybe you caught them before they got rolling on the story.
I'll say this much. We all need to understand that the Islamo-fascist terrorists are not going to get bored and abandon their jihad. They feel that their purpose for living is to kill infidels, particularly Americans, British and Jews. Our vigilance, including aggressive undercover intelligence efforts, must continue.
Attempts by the far left to impede those efforts weaken our ability to uncover and disable these plots.
Further (not to be overly cynical), there is too great an inclination by some to play politics with these situations. Juxtaposing "civil liberties" vs. anti-terrorism surveillance is a false comparison.
Update: See Andrew E.'s comment below. I REST MY CASE!!!
Nobody in the government wants to snoop on average law-abiding citizens. But if you'd like to blow up an airliner with 300 people on board, you need to be afraid that we are watching you.
Go ask Cindy Sheehan what she thinks of this story. I guarantee you her rehearsed answer would be that 'if George Bush had not invaded Iraq for oil, these people would have no reason to hate us".
Simplistic knee-jerk politics will not protect us. I wonder what Ned Lamont would say today? (I know what Joe Lieberman would say).

Looking at some of the official government rhetoric describing the plot and particularly Reid's ""mass murder on an unimaginable scale" quote, do you not think that this wording is possibly 'amplified' to instill a sense of fear in the citizen population? Fear whose influence may or may not lead to future public backing of new or existing anti-terror policies/interventions by the UK government?

So far after 21 arrests and many raids across the country, I see no evidence. But I see an enormous heigtening in security and monitoring. I hope to god for the sake of the UK police that they find some viable evidence. But right now, I smell a rat here.

All the 20 people arrested were UK nationals of Pakistan origin. When would United Nations ever think of tagging Pakistan as a Terrorist Nation-when the Pakistani president himself declares jihad ?

the news here in the UK is that it is 20 people arrested in connection with an alleged plot to target up to three transatlantic flights, yet in the UK no hand luggage is going to be allowed on the plane except for passports and tickets, medicines, wallets and purses, with the addition of parents of young baby's being allowed baby milk.
latest heathrow closed now to incoming flights except those already in the air.

Becaues CNN is not interested in spreading word that terorrism exists. They only want to show how bad America is, like bashing their once BELOVED Joe Lieberman because he has a mind of his own.

Remember, all these countries "Pro war on terror" and their ally media stations wants to remind you that the war on terror is real and on going. That is all they wanna sell you. However, don't be stupid enough to fall for anyone's reports and accusations, do your own research getting your sources from outside them.
