The Q above is the headline Q. This is the full Q that I wanted to ask, but couldn't because of the Q-box limit: Can anybody involved in the MidEast conflict *truthfully*claim to be compassionate if they knowingly *accidentally* kill or maim or support the killing or maiming of innocents caught in the middle?

Bush says Israel defeated Hezbollah

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Monday that Israel defeated Hezbollah's guerrillas in the monthlong Mideast war and that the Islamic militants were to blame for the deaths of hundreds of Lebanese civilians.

I heard that George Bush pushed to have these people arrested because of an imminent adn specific threat. Now I heard that they had no bomb parts, no airline tickets, no passports, they were just talking about the possibility of using liquid explosives. Is this true? Was Bush just wanting to look like he did something? Becuase this don't sound remotely similar to the media reports last week. I'm flying to NYC in a few days, so I'd really like to know what's going on in our skies!

What exactly is with the people that seem to whine, day after day about not being able to bring liquids, computers, and other stuff onto airlines? Would a simple solution be just not to fly, and to actually obey the rules? Not that I really care, but does whining and complaining about not being able to bring restricted items onto an aircraft, mean you actually do want to blow up and die?

Why do we think we can stop the terrorists. Does anyone realize that we are willingly giving up our freedoms to think that we are safe. No gov't or scanner will be able to stop everything. Why are we all just rolling over and letting the Gov't do as they please all in the name of national security. You fly at your own risk duh!!! Is everyone ready to sue NASA if you get hit with a meteor. Yes we can make controls and should but somethigns are getting extreme. Comments anyone??

That whole stuff about the "axis of evil" sure pissed off N. Korea and Iran, and what better way than for them to prove Mr. Bush right for the past 4 years...

Now we have the following statement from Mr Bush...I am told this guy read the Bible twice...what, while drunk? Time for everything under the sun...when to keep quiet(and NOT fuel MORE hatred towards the west!)

I think our real threat(the west) is in how we influence the rest of the world, and how morally, ethically, and culturally bankrupt we really are.

Look at the way WE live...

1. We are obssesed with sex. A woman cannot even breast feed discreetly in public without people freaking out!

2. We abort children as a matter of convenience, not neccesity.

3. 67% of us drink to get DRUNK, not to enjoy a single beer or glass of wine

4. We drive monster cars/suvs(because we can't FIT in a economy car)

5. We are disengaged from our children, because no one is home to care for them(latch-key kids)

6. More than half of us getting married will end up in divorce court.

7. We are GROSS consumers at best, snapping up stuff just for the sake of feeling that we saved some $$$(while we spiral further into debt).

8. We now have to modify our apperance through cosmetic surgery(and hence do not look what we use to look like...any one seen Kenny Rodgers lately)

Thoughts please?

If they were any more victorious, Hezzbollah would already be back in Syria!

Will peace & civility & sanity & respect ever rule in the middle east?

I don't get it. What do terrorists such as Al Quaida, Taliban, Hamas or Hezbollah hope to accomplish? If they wipe out the rest of the world, then what?

They are pro-west and hated by Muslim extremists. They have been Christian since 30 AD and speak Aramaic, the language of Christ. Most Assyrian-Americans assimilated rather quickly into American society. It would be in America's best interest to create a Christian "Israel. in northern Iraq"

Why are we as people so addicted to violence, killing and only look out for number one? Why don't we stop all of this fighting, all of this poverty? We are all brothers and sisters so why fight? What happened to the love? There are people dieing in 3rd world countries every 3 seconds and we say we are doing something when were not really. Most of us aren't giving u p our prized possessions to help those worse off than us.
We say we dont like violence yet we are giving our children video games whith fighting in. We ourselves often demonstrate violence even though we say we hate it.
Also what about the poor children out there with parents who dont love them or with out any parents. Some of you may say you hate your parents but would you have liked it if your were abandoned as a baby?
Again there is the 'Make Poverty History Campaign' but just buying the band does nothing at all except for raise a bit of money. We should stand up and speak up about what is right and where the love is
