Are the people in the Middle East as whacked as we think?

I think our real threat(the west) is in how we influence the rest of the world, and how morally, ethically, and culturally bankrupt we really are.

Look at the way WE live...

1. We are obssesed with sex. A woman cannot even breast feed discreetly in public without people freaking out!

2. We abort children as a matter of convenience, not neccesity.

3. 67% of us drink to get DRUNK, not to enjoy a single beer or glass of wine

4. We drive monster cars/suvs(because we can't FIT in a economy car)

5. We are disengaged from our children, because no one is home to care for them(latch-key kids)

6. More than half of us getting married will end up in divorce court.

7. We are GROSS consumers at best, snapping up stuff just for the sake of feeling that we saved some $$$(while we spiral further into debt).

8. We now have to modify our apperance through cosmetic surgery(and hence do not look what we use to look like...any one seen Kenny Rodgers lately)

Yes, the terrorists of the Middle East are as wacky as can be. That has nothing to do with the fact that SOME Americans are obsessed with sex. SOME abort children for convenience. SOME drink to get drunk (67% of all people? of people who drink?of people who get drunk??? statistics can be deceiving!). SOME people drive monster SUVs, SOME are disengaged from their children. Ditto the rest of it. SOME people in the Middle East are terrorists and are crazed and dangerous. One has nothing to do with the other. Pray that you don't become a victim of theirs and also pray that you are perfect since people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

What does it have to do with middle eastern people?
Are you just try to lash out on ourselves or else ?

Let's put it this way, we have a good mix of culture in US. There are people from different places/country wanting to be immigrate to US. There are certain goodness and value in this country.

However, we have a lot of bad things going here also. The biggest culprit of the bad things is our media. They contribute to the downfall of our social, moral and cultural values. Look at all these junk TV programs we have when you turn on TV. It is brainwashing our generations.

Even the news programs, they are very biased and censored. We are being fed with news that someone want us to watch.

You are right. People have changed so much. I look in my parents photo albums and hear about thee way people were back then. Everything now just seems so ugly and there are so many self-centered people. Lots of greed. My sister-in-law just had her 5th cosmetic surgery today. What's wrong with people? I wish things could get back to the way they were. What could possibly be next?

People in the Middle East are civilized and educated. Their only problem is that they own most of the world's natural wealths and control the most important land, air, and sea transportation routes, this is why Westerners keep inserting their noses in our affairs.

Aren't we just horrible. Hurry and get packed and I will help you get passage to another country. I know you will want to leave such horrible surroundings as soon as possible and frankly the rest of us will be happy to see your whiner, hand wringing, woe is us, self gone. yea they are .... they want to turn the whole world to islam and they wont be happy till they sort it out... its said that not all muslims are terrorists but that all terriorists are muslim... i really cant understand why they come to the uk and take everything they can from the system then want to blow us all up etc
