A chief constable has checked whether his headquarters is safe against burglars - by scaling scaffolding and climbing through a window.
North Wales Police's Richard Brunstrom staged the "break-in" because he was concerned there was a security risk

Will you be doing the same at your place of work?

Proves that being middle class, and having everything handed to you on a plate doesnt give you everything.

I hope her hubby gets sent down for a long time just to see what she does ......... I bet she cracks up proper.

at the very least, the core of the business ......... the hotline for people to phone in tips ....... would be working?

The hotline has been down for days and is STILL down (try the number yourself).

And this is what £50,000 a month is being wasted on ......... oh as well as having their directors make completely outrageous claims like Maddy being home for Xmas.

Metado 3 are a complete joke ......... yet they are still defrauding the fund all under the watchful eyes of Gerry and Kate. The whole thing is a farce.

How much does it cost to fix a friggen phone line!

I think the PJ made him an arquido to protect him. Being an arquido works both ways! Murat, for protection. McCanns to secure a future conviction!

or Relocation (or whatever they are calling it now) ........ that for the new series in 2008 they will stop the charade of pretending that buying your own house brings with it a pot of gold?

Its shows like this that fuelled the UK's obsession with buying houses for the past decade which has priced many people out of the market, and those that did jump on board late on will be having their homes respossessed in about 12 months time as they realise that they should have paid a little more attention in economics class to realise that interest rates dont stay low forever, that they go in cycles, and that house prices do also go down as well as up.

House prices have fallen around 3% in the last month, or at the rate of almost £1000 a day ............. a fact Kirsty and co conveniently keep quiet.

(yes I know my attack on Kirsty seems random, but these shows only ever paint the good side of owning a property not the potential pitfalls which is not balanced TV).

Thought for the day:: Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant'
is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'!

Should not those proposing Amnesty also include such crimes as drug dealing, as in the quip above? And those who steal your identity and run up bills in your name as "Resource Reallocation Assistants"? Murderers as "Population Control Operatives"?

Why do we allow semantics to cover over those crimes that benefit those of certain political persuasions or with warped overall value systems.

I seriously doubt it is true sympathy, but willing to listen to how it is explained, by someone believing such seriously. Or how you can justify one and not the other.

or do you think that because the story is 'old' news that we should just let them get away with actions that directly led to the death of a child.

So many on here seem to have a 6 month time limit on which a crime can be solved, after that you need to sweep it under the carpet and pretend it never happened.

Well I for one hope that Kate wakes up having nightmares on Xmas eve knowing her neglect that night led to Madeleine lying cold and alone in a shallow grave somewhere.

I hope Kate thinks about that while shes sitting in a nice warm house in Rothley, playing happy families, knowing that the 'difficult' child was got rid of.

Not to be rude or anything, but the future doesn't seem to be all that great for Israel? How do you think Israel will be destroyed or do you think the Palestinians will eventually just outnumber the Jews and take their land back democratically?

Why is it that when one cute white kid goes missing, the entire world responds with all its energy and money (think Maddie here), but when entire African villages go up in smoke and there's mass genocide, nobody seems to care? Are there no cute children in Darfur?

If you don't know what I'm referring to, check this link, or do a google search for "Darfur" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darfur_conflict

One of the key signs according to the NSPCC of child neglect is - if they are regularly left alone, or in charge of younger brothers or sisters.

Three children under 4 were left alone by Kate and Gerry McCann night after night in Greece 2006 (where they admit openly to 'perfecting' the technique) and Portugal 2007 while they ate and drank at restaurants. As a direct result of this neglect Madeleine McCann aged 3 disappeared. Because the parents were out drinking, they do not even know what time their child disapeared (or say they dont).

And yet there are people who not only make excuses for this behavior but actually support parents who neglect their child in this way right here on YA Current Events - on the grounds that they were British child neglectors, so that makes it OK then.

Should these supporters of serial child neglect be named and shamed, or should we hope that they never have children of their own ?

Putting two and two together we now realise why the 'Tapas 9' have been so keen to put Robert Murat in the frame - he was the translator at their initial interviews. By lying through their teeth to get the Police to make Morat at suspect the 'Tapas 9' knew full well it would discredit their initial interviews with the Portuguese Police should any of them be charged.

Who fooled who in case McCann ?

I'm 20 years old, working as the Sports Editor for a daily newspaper in the Texas Panhandle. After having been the Sports Editor for a year, we've decided it might be best for me to broaden my horizons and give a weekly column in the Opinion section a shot. I usually have one or two sports-related columns a week, but this is my chance to write about anything I want, any topic I want. But I'm drawing blanks.

Actually writing the column isn't the problem at all - I can spit a good 20-30" story out in five minutes. But I just have no idea what to write about. Our readers are people of every age group, gender, race, everything. But I want to show my sarcastic sense of humor to the community, but also show them my articulate side at the same time. I have a good head on my shoulders, damnit.

I guess I just have a major case of writer's block. Any ideas? I'll write about anything, no matter how obscure. It's just thinking of something - that's the hard part.
