Charles Manson is eligible for parole to be released from prison in 2012. Do you think he will be released? What do you think about it?

There is no way that Manson gets out of prison. MAYBE one of the women will. I worked with one of the prosecutors from his case. The State of California will show up at every parole hearing and oppose every attempt until the day he dies.

Sheesh. He must be 70 yrs old now. If there can be a non-biased shrink report on him that says he wont foment anymore mass murders, and isnt a danger to society. At that age, most arent a threat to society; And if he shows remorse; And if a 1/2 house would take him [maybe they'd profiteer from CM giving interviews there, etc] Plus, the issue at his age, he'll like start having health probs that'l cost the system $$$. But if they spring him, he'l prob be on Social Security/Medicare/caid, so the state'l pay anyway. They could spring him w/ the agreement he'l give 80% of his book profits & lecture n movie profits to the state. And promise not to run for the GOP nomination for Pres.

I highly doubt he will be paroled. He isn't really all that determined to be free (if you watch the last interview with him, you can kind of get a feel for his mindframe) and at this point in time, I think that the parole board understands that even if he is rehabilitated (I'm not sure that he is...), he would probably be targeted and killed shortly after being released, there is still alot of hate for him out there. I don't see a logical benefit to his release, so he probably won't ever see that day. JMO.

He'll be 78 years old that year. I don't think he is as dangerous a person as he was in the past but that doesn't mean I think he should be released. He has never taken responsibility for his actions and he feels no remorse for his victims.

I hate guns, but trust me if he gets parole I'm going to get one. That's for sure. If he gets parole I really will hit a depro and the last hope I had for justice would be shattered.
