If you don't like reading the news because it's depressing (I absolutely agree with you) how are you able to form an opinion on something you know nothing about. I am often amazed how vocal people can become about an issue but when you press them, you find their opinions are based on emotions OR heresay rather than on any genuine knowledge of the subject. Americans are notoriously guilty of this. It is interesting that of the people who answered my question only 2 people, one an Australian,admitted to being addicted to the news. Americans GET WITH IT!!!!

News is worthy if it is real. Heard on the grapevine that the government authorities did not burn the acres of havestable marijuana but NETTED it all in. WHO profits from this? WHO lost from this? Guess any one can reply to this. Wish the truth would be told. DEA answers are appreciated. (Which Forrest AREA?)

A few weeks ago the news ran a story of a nanny that was convicted of shaking a baby. I think she was in Florida. From the video tapes that were shown its seemed like she didnt do anything wrong. It appeared that she was playing with the baby and there was no physical evidence of abuse. She was convicted. Did she get out of prison? I have not seen any follow up

Did Karr do it? Is he just some nut job that has studied the case and convinced himself he did it? i just read that he also was obssessed with the Polly Klaus case. it makes me wonder. First i thought the parents did it, but after watching the primetime (i think that's the show) special on this whole case i doubt they did it. Then i thought this guy did it. But so many things are being shown that goes against his confession. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are.

My daughter and her friends came home from school, saying they are hearing on Aug. 24 something bad is going to happen. I hadn't heard anything about it. I know I have been trying to toilet train my cats for 2 days and so far they only peed in the toilet cat. Tomorrow is the third of no poopie. So there could be something bad happening tomorrow for me, those cat's belly's are hard.

Okay, to start with, I am a New Yorker, a caucasion, and of absolutely no arab decent,
nor am I a terrorist in any way, shape or form.

I had to make this point perfectly clear.

Now when our twin towers were struck by hijacked planes, each, and every person involved in the bombings were of Saudi Arabian
ancestry, not to mention the fact that the Saudi Arabian Royal family provided funding to Osama Bin Laden, who is also Saudi.

We as the United States of America have declared war on both Afghanistan and Iraq,
neither of which had in the past or in the future
the capability to attack America. Nor were they havens for terrorist groups until after our invasions. All of these facts are openly available through news media and United Nations reports.

With these facts in mind, why do Americans pay blind Patriotism when the country truly responible for the attacks on America has not even seen the least bit of retribution for thier actions?

Why is it that the media always hides Palestinian deaths, but when a single Israeli casualty occurs, it becomes breaking news? Why is it when a suicide bomber kills one or two Israelis, he is condemnded, but when an Israeli soldier shoots at the heads and eyes of many young Palestinian children, it is either not shown to the public, or somehow, the Israeli soldier is justified as "defending" himself?

Why can't the world see that Israel, with the most powerful air force and arms, is responsible for the destruction of countless Palestinian villages? Why is it that Israel has unjustly imprisoned over ten thousand Palestinian civilians, but when just two Israeli soldiers are captured, Israel is suddenly justified in sending in a huge military response?

Why is it that people condemn Palestinians bombers for Israeli casualties, but Israelis kill Palestinians, cut off their food supplies, contaminate their water, etc. and yet no one sees fit to condemn Israel, or side with the Palestinians?
