but at what point will we step up and take care of our own? Should be send aid to the nations that revile us before sending aid to our own homeless or unemployed or disaster victims?

I see your point and my husband says the same thing all the time. That is a hard question. What if a natural disaster happens in North Korea or Iran. Do we send help. I think you have to because the people may not share the feelings of their governments. There will always be people in the US who need help but look at the way people have to live in Cambodia or Rwanda. No one here is living like that. What would it be like to have to fear for yourself and your family on a daily basis. I just think that you have to help them.
