Awww, the poor babies have to restructure and lay off employees! Oh WAAAH! That just breaks my heart. Did some of their advertisers finally wake up to what the NYT is? What ever will LIBERALS do if they lose precious column inches usually reserved for hate, slander of the president, posting classified information that damages national security, and many other sordid activities? They and their bastard stepsisters in LA (Times) and Washington (Post) aren't losing readers to the Internet, but rather credibility! Good, accurate, balanced, and unbiased REPORTING is not what NYT passes off as journalism. Perhaps they have folks who can string a sentence together, but how do they justify their lies and obvious one-sidedness? Maybe people are also tired of know-nothing columnists telling them how to live and what to believe. Bravo!

Could a person call the police information desk 12 times one day, then call the police information desk the next day 12 times without getting into trouble? Keep in mind that each time you call, you are asking real legit questions. And also keep in mind that the same person will be answering each time you call. How many calls can you make before this person answering the phone becomes angry and sends the police out to your house?

i hate how the news is constantly reporting about foreigners leaving lebanon. "vacationers evacuated.." who cares. if theyre going on vacation in a potential warzone,,they are just plain stupid, nobody should feel bad for them, and the news shouldnt bother reporting this crap. focus on the real issue, the total warfare thats going on. who cares if some french people had to leave..

I seen many answers blaming the Lebanese goverment for Hezbollah's actions. Let me give you some facts, and then you decide.

Hezbollah started in 1982 as a result of Israel's invasion of South Lebanon in the late 70's. During 18 years, it grew stronger and stronger despite Israel's many attempts to weaken them. In the year 2000, Israel retreated form South Lebanon.
However Syria remained in the country, and supplied Hezbollah with various weapons, such as rockets and missiles. Syria's presence in Lebanon was ended in the year 2005 after heavy pressure from the U.N and the Cedar Revolution, accomplished by Lebanese patriots, who were tired of seeing their country enslaved by the Syrian goverment.
However, Hezbollah was now stronger than ever, even stronger than the Lebanese military. Now, in the July 2006, Israel starts slaughtering innocent Lebanese citizens, accusing the lebanese goverment of not controling Hezbollah.

Do you still think it's the Lebanese goverment's fault?

Some people posted the site showing the war that is currently happening between Israel and Lebanon. It showed photos of all the victims, who are innocent children and citizens. And the reaction was, they had it coming, and calling them terrorist. Is this what man kind has become. Nothing but hearless beings filled with hatred?

I am against the killing of ANY human, especially civilian and regardless of their race, religion, sex, age etc...
But from my point of view, I look at what happened to the poor jews, europeans, arabs and other races during WWII, how they were mercilessly killed by the nazis. A crime against humanity, against reasoning. But that was 50 years ago.
And now, what do we have? The same people that were prosecuted and tortured have now settled in a land that was no longer theirs. They kicked away people from their homes and took it for theirs, they have killed thousands of palestinians and now are destroying Lebanon completley by killing civilians, bruning bridges, airprot etc... Isn't that genocide and crime? Bare well that i am not freeing the other side of guilt. its a war and both sides have done wrong. But if Israel is as civilized as it claims to be, can its actions against the pal. and lebanese be justified? to burn a country to the ground for the kidnapping of 2 soldiers is bad.
