I was in the middle of a mid-size earthquake in the Califirnia mountains a few years ago. I was out camping with friends, and was a little tipsy from a few drinks. I went to go to sleep and realised that all the trees around me were swaying back and forth. I thought it was some unkown side effect of the altitude or the drinking, but it didn't stop, and i realised that the ground was moving slightly too. It was really surreal.

Yes, I went through the May 3rd, 1999 F5 tornado that went through central Oklahoma. My house was fine except for all of the debris that landed in my yard. 44 of our church families lost their homes completely.

One night my wife and I went to sleep. It was raining and I thought nothing of it. At about 4 in the morning, someone is banging on our apartment door. I stumble downstairs to the door because the eletricity is out. I ask who is it. The person yells my name and says open the door. I recognize the voice as my neighbors, so I open our door. The parking lot of our apartment complex was now a lake.

The blackout in NYC a few years ago... Only other thing was 9/11 and that's certinly not a natural disaster.
