I bought common houseplant seeds from home depot (don't really know which, just picked up a few to make my house look nicer) and put a few of them in some dirt in a small pot. The room has a fairly large window but it is not in direct sunlight, it is on a table right next to a incandescent light bulb which is on a good amount of time per day, will my plant grow? I've heard they help it grow but just not that much. The light bulb is used for general lighting in the room anyways so it's on a good amount of the time...so I was thinking I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Will it grow at all?

Back when my grandfather was alive he made a footstool. I remember this footstool being my seat of choice when we were visiting (maybe once a year). After he passed it made it's way into my home. It needs some help, the legs are coming off and the fabric is in tatters. I'd love to rework it so it will be useable again, but how do I do that and it still by the footstool my Grandpa made?

I'm looking to order sheets from JC Penny, and I'm confused with choices. Usually I buy a bed in a bag, but the ones they have are tacky. So, my question to you is:

What's the difference between a Bedspread and a Comforter?

Is the bedspread the entire set, or is it just a cover...eh?

I'm making a 13 year olds room bright orange. She has a huge room, bigger than most children's. Its a very bright, deep, orange. I don't know if I should paint the whole thing orange, or if that will look too much. If I only paint one wall orange, what should I do with the other walls? Just leave them white?

(she likes bright colors)

We have a lot of potted plants out at our cottage but we also have an investation of chipmunks. We love having them there but they always get into the plants. Are there any ways, without killing them, to keep them off the plants? If not are there just certain plants they go for that we shouldn't plant?

The door is on the side where everyone throws their trash away so it no big deal for it to be locked its for everyones good this is not the only thing wrong but its the most important. So if anyone can give me a some adice i would really aprecciate it.

For almost 2 years this fridge has worked great, but now we have a little problem. The only button on the front ice/water dispenser that works properly is the lock button. The others kind of work, by this I mean when they are pushed they switch to the selection. If the blower in the refrigerator side is blowing when a button is pushed it stops and then about 10 seconds later comes on again. I did it a few times to make sure that it wasn't coincidence. Also when you take a cup and push the switch to get some ice or water you get nothing. Instead of the light coming on like normal when the switch is pushed in, it comes on afterwards. Also when the switch is pushed in there is a clicking noise at the control board in the back of the fridge. I have looked at to see if any fuses were blown, but the fuse is ok at the bottom of the board. The clicking seems to be coming from the top part of the board. Sorry if this is a bit much, but wanted to include all details that I could think of.

I have a large basement I want to have finished. There is about 870sq ft to be done. I had a contractor come in and estimate it and it was more then I thought, but I liked the system. From your experience, how much should this cost? Any 'systems' that you recommend? Thanks!

We just built a pergola and planted climbing roses of a hearty old rose type, and want to ensure we keep them healthy. We refuse to use any chemicals, and make our own compost and use rabbit pen droppings as fertilizer. They are growing well, but one of my nearby rose bushes has something eating at the leaves, leaving them with little holes in them. What can I do to prevent this?

I have a hole in the dry wall about the size of a golf ball above the mirror over the bathroom sink. A new light fixture was put up and while taking out the old fixture the hammer head went into the wall. The problem is that there is nothing behind the sheet rock to hold any plaster and the wiring from the light is there. I have no one to help me and I can't come up with an idea.

The oil level is not overfilled, and it sometimes doesn't smoke until I level out again. It doesn't smoke going up hill or on a flat, just down. It is a 7 year old Scott's 17HP mower that I got used from a person who rarely used it. It looks practically new! Any suggestions would be great!
