When I leave for a weekend or even a day I smell the fumes or exhaust from the tank. It smells up the whole room. But if I run the hot water for second the smell goes away, well after a few.

i recently had to buy a new a/c unit. The owner told my wife and I the 2 1/2 ton 14 seer unit he had would save 30% in electric bills. My bill only shows a 2% savings. How should I handle this with the a/c company?

unable to remove drain screen (part of shower itself); aware clog is soap/hair; don't have a lot of cash, wondering if there is a 'solution/trick/fix' that won't need repeat trips to the hardware store..

I pre-stained some oak wood planks, then made some stair treads out of them. I installed the treads, filled the nail holes with putty that accepts stain, sanded off the excess putty, and then tried to re-stain the light spots where I sanded the nail holes. Those areas will not accept stain. I cleaned the wood with mineral spirits, to no avail. Help!

I only occassionally use dryer sheets, it seems like when I use them my clothes get spotted. Are there any other options? The box suggested to rewash the clothes if spotting occurs, but this doesn't work.

I used to park my car where the automatic sprinklers would spray it every night. The windows on one side now have horrible hard water spots that make them almost impossible to see through, especially when the sun is shining from that direction. Kinda dangerous.

I've tried using the products that claim to get hard water spots off of bathroom fixtures, but they don't work at all.

Some scary-looking dude selling some kind of cleaning product cornered me in my driveway once, and demonstrated the product on a spot on one of the windows, and the spots just seemed to effortlessly vanish. I shooed the guy away cuz he was bothering me and I was in a hurry, but I sure wish I had at least gotten the name of the product he was trying to sell me.

Any clues would be appreciated, thanks!

I have a contract with a real estate agent. She hasn't found any buyers for my home. An individual came up and asked me if I want to sell my house to him. Do I still have to pay a fee to the realtor being that the individual came directly to me and not the realtor. My contract to sell the house with the realtor ends at the end of this month.

The a/c is located close to the neighbors fence and its a noisy one (more than 70dB). It needs to be weatherproof and not look like a shanty house.or some other shabby collection of panels.

But the machine doesn't come with directions. Does anyone know where I can find directions before I rent it. I'm renovating my kitchen and had to pull the soffets above my cabinets down... now I've patched drywall there to fill in the holes. Now I need to panit it to match the rest of the kitchen.

Should I wait as long as possible to turn it on (like waiting until it's 80 degrees or more in the house), but then it has to work hard to get from 80 degrees to 74, for example. Or should I turn it on earlier in the day so the A/C doesn't have to work so hard because it's been working to maintain 74 degrees all day?
