We have several ponderosa pine trees on our property, and due to recent wildfires in our area, we were told to trim branches lower than 10 feet to keep fires from spreading.

We have trimmed a few branches before, both at the trunk and leaving a few inches, but this allows sap to drip freely, and someone told us that it also exposes the tree to disease and infestation by tree-destroying beetles.

Is there a recommended method of trimming these branches or of covering over the resultant exosed wood?

Thanks.

I am debating whether to spend either $800 on a radiant heat barrier or $1,200 on additional attic insulation. I am told that my current attic insulation is only 4 inches thick and it is a two story home. I have two power attic fans installed. Which product gives the most bang for the buck?

I have negatives from the last 25 years of marriage and family photos. We now use a digital camera. Do we need to keep the old negatives? I am nervous about throwing them away.

My family just moved into a new home and I am trying to get up about three years worth of dead grass. Does anyone have any ideas aside from using a rake or a can of gasoline? (the gasoline was a joke, just in case someone thought I was serious)

I have an old wedge style sofa sectional , I would like to cover it with a slip cover but can not find a company that makes them for that shape of sectional . Does anyone no where to find one ? I would be willing to dump the wedge piece and use it as a regular sectional for the right slipcover but then it has some pieces that only have one are ( the end pieces ) and I can not find a slipcover for that syle either .

They have no hook up for their dirty water or waste.I am sick of all the trash and junk in the frount yard, every mornning I see rats running on the phone lines and they stop to get into ther yard. They also have five dogs and three cats they do not clean up the yard ,we have even seen them water down the dogs waste and with this heat it is very bad. We have been very nice asking them to please get this under control. The dogs have even been out more times than we can count and use our yard as theres....Barking all hours even with them there. The mess in the yard the waste its to much.I believe ther thoughts were to re model but I don't think its even being done lawful like they haven't even been working on it for some time.

I am growing Gardeners Delight and Tumbling Tom in pots (12 inch ones ) in a Polytunnel.
The plants were doing really well, the tomatoes setting well until the last few days, when they have suddenly started to fall off the plants.
I have watered them consistantly, and feed them with Tomorite once a week.
The polytunnel has doors at both ends which have been consistantly open. There is not an obvious problem with Botrytis.

I share a back yard fence with my neighbor. He wants me to pay for half of replacement, even though I have the back side face of the fence. Replacement is due to age, not damage by either party.

These type of locks are round , have a flat key cylinder on one side of the door and on the other side a round face with two screws and a lever which is turned by hand.
The bolt itself pops out from the side of the door into the bolthole in the architrave by just over an inch which means excellent security for internal doors.
Popular makes in the US include SCHLAGE, KWIKSET and MOUNTAIN SECURITY.
