I have a head of garlic with a sprout growing out of it. When I plant it, do I put the head in the ground with the sprout sticking out, or do I plant it with the sprout in the ground????

I'm working on a remodel for a sale and the pervious owners wall papered the entire house floor to ceiling. The paper is like vinyl so it's easy to pull off but the adhesive paper behind it is a pain. I'm trying to steam it then scrape it off with a putty knife but that takes forever. any other suggestions?

I have been living here for 6 years and in the last 2 to 3 years the tub/shower has lost about half it's tiles. They are still laying in the tub. The roof leaks in my dining room, causing plaster and water to drop whenever it rains. The basement steps are wood and some have become unsafe. All these things my landlord is aware of and I have been asking when they will be fixed. I usually get either a " yes we will get to it this week" or "we have to wait on the plumber or roofer". HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone been through this and if so, how do I handle it??????????????

After painting my house, i have a couple gallons of used paint left over.. one in a large bucket with some water in it, the other a gallon of paint we mixed. The paint we mixed is a whole gallon of pink paint we just know we are never going to use. Is there a free/cheap way to get rid of paint without doing anything illegal or hazardous to the environment?

Have you ever heard of a fabric called Damask? It is used for making table cloths. Please answer if you've ever heard of it, or know of a place to get it, or can suggest something to try. THANKS!

We had an addition put on and the original exhaust was blocked by one of the new walls. We told the contractor that we would convert our vent hood to a filter, but now we want to vent it. Problems are directly above the exhaust is 5 feet from a corner in a bed room. Directly 90 degrees away is in the dining room that my wife doesn't want to modify.

I'm thinking of going 90 degrees the inward direction, the 5 feet to get to the corner in the bedroom and then up to above the new edition's roof line. The inward direction has open cabinet bulk head.

Will it end up with too many turns in the exhaust? Describe the best process for starting and proceeding, then finishing the job. I want to evaluate if the job is too much for my skills. If I do this job myself and I do it well, will it effect the value of the house a lot or only a little, if at all?

I am building a 2 story polebarn. I need the floor between the 2 stories to be cement and capable of holding the weight of a motorhome and extras.I want the floor constructed of Bar joists with a composite deck on the joists so a cement floor can be poured. The lower level will have poured concrete walls 10' high and that will be the support structure for the bar joists. The building is 32' by 48 ' The floor joists need to span the 32'width.
What i am looking for--- the thickness of the cement walls that are required to hold the weight of the cemcent floor and pole barn above. The quanity and size of the Bar joists. What thicknes of composite decking would I require?
