My cockatoo always closes the door when he goes to the loo for number one's or two's. I'll ask him later, we're having a BBQ and he said he might pop along. Do you need an answer today?

Well technically they defecate & urinate at the same time. For birds, who have such short digestive tracts, it is more economical to combine both their solid and liquid wastes to ease in their passing, because of the coarse nature of their solid wastes (containing seeds and such). So birds do produce urine, it just comes out combined with other wastes.

No.Unlike mammals, which excrete waste fluid as urine and solid waste as feces, birds mix both liquid waste and solid waste into the white paste you see as bird droppings. The only exception is the ostrich, which has a urinary bladder.

birds don't urinate as such, unlike most animals which have a distinct difference between liquid and solid excretion. Birds combine urine and faeces which is why it is such a disgusting, gooey and smelly deposit.

Birds urinate too. When you see runny bird droppings, most of it is urine.
