Yes just think how your lungs look and how your hair and clothes smell of cigarettes. Nasty habit. Better to smoke outside of the house on the patio.
The smoke particles collect on the green needles and block their ability to absorb CO2 and sunlight.

Also make sure you are not overwatering, needs repotting, pruning the plant. Check this out:
