There is a paint made for any material. Consult with a hardware store that sells paint AND with places that refurbish antiques.

I don't know the kind of paint, but I'd say the job requires removing all the hardware, treating the surface with some solution that will allow paint to adhere -- which can be toxic and requires special care -- Then painting with a sprayer being careful to evenly coat the surface enough to cover, but not too much that is drips. (Practice spraying something you can throw away, before you do your tub.)

It's a pretty involved process as you can see. Are you sure you want to do this? What about a tub liner or replacing the tub?

Yes, use TSP, found at paint stores and home centers. You'll really be using an epoxy not a paint. Basic colors are white, beige sometimes black.
I bougt them myself at Lowe's.
If you want to decorate, I had stickers made for wet areas, actuallu toilets! Can you believe that!!!

The glaze is baked on at high temperatures. You can paint it but it will not be the same.
